Bible Verse of The Day – 7-31-15

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Most times we hear this verse being taught and talked about regarding individuals. We hear about how we are to keep ourselves from evil and not get drawn into practices that aren’t pleasing to God.

Today we need to take a look at this from a collective point of view, as a body; the body of Christ.

The church as a whole also has an obligation to honor God in everything it does. The world has so greatly influenced the church that it has started to succumb to the pressure and accept some things that are contrary to the word of God.

Many times, in an effort to please people, the church will cave in to pressure and practice or allow things that they know aren’t right. This also happens in an effort to keep people from getting their feelings hurt, or to be politically correct.

Jesus was not worried about what people thought of Him. Yes, He loved people. And yes, He forgave people for their sins. But Jesus also spoke to and addressed sin when it was before Him, without apologizing.

He was the religious people’s worst nightmare because he saw their practices for what they were and called them out for it. He would be the first person to forgive them if they had sincerely repented. But He knew their motives and had no trouble calling sin what it was; sin.

So we need to be very careful as the body of Christ, and guard our hearts, letting God guide us and help us discern the things that are pressuring us to change our convictions.

The word of God never changes. It doesn’t bend to please the current fads or trends. The definition of sin doesn’t change to please people.

And so should the church hold onto and keep its convictions, unwavering and true to our Creator.

We need to love those around us, reach out and offer Christ to those in need, but never, ever let the world convince us that anything outside of God’s standards is acceptable or right, simply because someone says it should be so.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-30-15

Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV) 17 The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Looking back at some of the things we have faced in the recent past, we can clearly see that God had to deprogram us from some of our behavior patterns. He had to change our thinking in order to get us out of the situation we were in and bring us to the place He wanted us to be in, regarding the way we thought and the way we did things.

To Deprogram means to dissuade or try to dissuade from strongly held convictions (as of a religious nature) or a firmly established or innate behavior pattern.

It wasn’t that we were involved in anything terrible or unusual. But in our everyday lives, we were used to doing things a certain way, and He wanted to change that. For us, it was specific to our finances.

Some things were very hard for us to change because we thought we had it all figured out. We thought that what we were doing was right.

But we learned to let God have His way, even if we thought we knew how to do it on our own. And as God brought us through some things, we could clearly see that God wanted to do things differently than the natural mind would ever think or imagine.

When we receive Jesus into our lives, we are not alone and we are not on our own. He is in our midst. He is the Mighty One who saves!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-29-15

Mark 9:38-40 (NKJV) 38 Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.” 39 But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. 40 For he who is not against us is on our side“.

Jesus taught the disciples right from the start that just because someone was not in their little group of twelve, it does not necessarily mean they are wrong for doing what they do. They were doing it in the name of Jesus. In other words they believed in Him as well. Their hearts were for Jesus and they wanted to do good.

How many times do we look at other denominations or churches and think, “well they are not doing it like us, or they don’t belong to our group so they are off or not doing it right?”

We, as the bride of Christ, need to come together in unity and work as one body. We shouldn’t always be looking at others and finding fault because they are not part of our church or our group, etc.

Our passion is to reach individuals for Jesus Christ. We can all agree on that. But there are lot of individuals that are struggling and suffering all over this world. Our church or group, etc. can not do it alone.

Wouldn’t it be beautiful if we could put aside our denominational prejudice, and together reach the world with Christ?

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-28-15

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

It’s important that we take our time and think about what we are going to say, before we say it. Our words make a difference. They really matter.

What comes out of our mouth is what is in our heart. If we are constantly saying negative things, fault finding or picking things or people apart, we need to change how we speak.

And if we really want to change how we speak, we really need to let God bring change to our heart.

There is a lot of good to be seen and spoken, but we’ve got to be looking for it. Of course there is bad too, but that is what prayer is for. God will help fix the bad that we find if we bring it to Him and don’t let it dominate our tongue.

Let God help us in our conversations, to say good things, be encouraging, uplifting and fruitful with our words. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV) 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-27-15

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) 31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Waiting can be a hard thing to do. Nobody really likes waiting for anything, especially if we don’t know exactly how long the wait will be.

We like to know what’s going to happen, and when it’s going to happen. And, let’s face it, God doesn’t necessarily time things the way we’d like them to be timed.

But as we learn to wait on Him, things happen. We change.

We learn patience and we get to see ourselves in a new light. Sometimes that light isn’t very positive when we see who we really are and how we behave when things don’t go the way we think they should.

As we wait on God, we need to learn to listen and hear His voice. It’s imperative that we do this, since there will usually be things He will tell us or teach us while we wait. If we spend all of our waiting time griping, we’ll never hear or learn anything.

Conversely, if we spend all of our waiting time trying to figure everything out in our heads, with our own limited knowledge and understanding, we may make a move based on what we think is right, and completely miss what God had for us.

And, if we wait patiently and then we follow the path that God sets before us, only when He tells us to move, our strength will be renewed and we will not have wasted all of our time and effort making something happen ourselves that wasn’t meant to happen.

Wait on Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-25-15

Psalm 95:1 (NKJV) 95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

He is our ROCK and our salvation!

We are not promised a tomorrow, but we are promised eternal life.

We are promised while we are still here on earth that we can cry out to our Lord and He will hear our voice, deliver us, hold us, heal us, and lift us up.

What an AWESOME God, a beautiful Son, Jesus Christ and wonderful Helper, the Holy Spirit!! Amen.

We have plenty to be thankful for today. Sing to Him and shout out with JOY!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-24-15

1 John 1:9 (NKJV) 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We all sin. It’s human nature.

As God works in our life and cleans us up, our sin should continue to decrease as we grow closer to Him and learn how to walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh.

But when we make mistakes and poor choices, which we will do sometimes, we can be assured that if we repent and confess our sin to Him, He will forgive us and cleanse us.

And the best part is that it doesn’t have to be some kind of ritual or process that we have to go through to obtain His forgiveness. We simply have to have a repentant heart and ask Him to forgive us. Plain and simple.

And His word assures us that if we do this, He will forgive us. So if you’re carrying burdens from your sin, give it to Him. If you’re weighted down by guilt and shame, give it to Him.

Don’t wait. Today is the day to start fresh and let your past be just that; the past.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-23-15

Hebrews 4:15 (NKJV) 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Temptation comes to all of us. It comes in many different forms, shapes and sizes.

We all struggle with different temptations and we all have different strengths and weaknesses.

But one thing is for sure. Not a single one of us is tempted by anything new. Our very own Savior, Jesus Christ, was tempted in every way that we are tempted. He could have had power, sex, pride and so much more.

But by the power of the Holy Spirit, He resisted all of them and remained without sin.

Sometimes we tend to “have ourselves a little pity party” and think that nobody has ever been through the things that we are going through and that nobody has ever had to wrestle with the things that we are coming against.

But the fact of the matter is that there is nothing new when it comes to temptation!

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Men and women today face the very same temptations that men and women faced 100 years ago, 200 years ago or even 2,000 years ago!

And the choice has always been the same. Give in to it and fall into sin, or turn and walk away from it.

As believers, we have been given the Spirit of God to help us discern and make right choices. It’s still up to us to do the right thing.

So we always need to seek the way of escape when temptation comes. God will always provide a way out. We just need to see it and utilize it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-22-15

Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV) 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

God knew Jeremiah before He formed him in the womb. And before he was born, God sanctified him.

This took place before Jeremiah ever came out of his mother’s womb.

The sanctity of life is confirmed here in this verse. In God’s eyes, we are somebody before we are ever born. In fact, we are somebody before we are ever conceived.

We need to understand that aborting a child is never acceptable in God’s eyes. Even though the world, or the laws of many nations, states and provinces may say it is our right to do so, they are wrong.

A child is a blessing, no matter how or when they come. We must not think that they are anything less than a beautiful blessing from God.

Maybe you are pregnant and afraid; you don’t know how you can do this. You don’t have the means to take care of this child. Your spouse or mate may not be happy with the news; you don’t even want to tell them for fear they will leave you or run from it all.

God knew your child before he/she was conceived and He knows what to do. He knows how to work it all out. Both of you are important to Him and He has a plan.

Whatever you are facing right now will be worked out according to His will for you if you stop and let Him lead you. You may feel overwhelmed right now and you don’t have the answers. But He does.

Life is a beautiful thing and God can turn your situation around for you and your baby.

Maybe you’ve had an abortion in the past. You don’t need to live your life feeling condemned by it. Ask God to forgive you, and He will.

We are praying for you and we are available anytime. Reach out today for help.

If God is speaking to you today or someone you know is going through this, get in contact with us, either by phone or email.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-21-15

Mark 9:23-24 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

God has shown us His provision many times in His Word!!

If we are having a hard time believing today, it may be because of the trials that we’ve been through. Or maybe because we have been sick for so long. Or maybe we’ve done some things wrong, and because of them, we don’t feel like God will help us.

It’s time we put those thoughts away and stand on His promise to us, asking Him today for help with our unbelief.

He says, IF you can believe. That if is huge here. Can we believe His promise to us today, looking past everything we are facing?

All things are possible to him who believes. Believe Him to do the omnipotent, mighty work in our daily lives today! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-20-15

Matthew 7:1-2 (NKJV) 7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Each day, we all come into contact with many, many other people. We may not interact with all of them directly, in person, but we see them or pass by them in the course of our day.

As we see or come into contact with these people, we make a note in our mind about what we think of them.

We like them or dislike them. We think they are good or bad. We think they are moral or immoral. We think they are worthy of our time and attention or not, and many other things that we think in a matter of a few seconds. We pass judgment on them.

And we do this almost instantly, without really even making an effort to do so. It just happens. And we do this while knowing absolutely nothing about a person or their motives, their situation or their circumstances.

Each time we pass judgment on a person without knowing them or anything about them, our heart hardens a little more. And each new unfounded, groundless judgment causes a new layer of hardness to cover our heart.

Before we know it, our hearts are wrapped in so many hard layers and we feel justified in our judgments of others; self-righteous in our thoughts.

Bur God wants to break this terrible cycle in our minds. He wants to put an end to the way we see people and judge them needlessly.

And only He can break down the hardened layers that surround our hearts. Only He can show us who we really are and then help us to change. Without Him, we are powerless to change.

So many times when we judge others, we are so wrong, and our perception is so far off, yet we continue, day after day, doing this same thing.

Matthew 15:19 (NKJV) 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

People of God, it’s time for us to stop. It’s time to let God show us our thoughts and the damage that they do. And then we need to let Him break through those hardened layers that have encased our hearts, and destroy them once and for all.
