Bible Verse of The Day – 5-31-16

Psalm 30:2 (NKJV) 2 O Lord my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.

Who or what situation needs God’s healing today? Do we suffer from sickness, disease or any kind of illness? Maybe we’ve been emotionally hurt from things that have been done against us. We stress over it and we find it hard to cope with each day. The memories of it torment us.

Maybe our church has been under an attack from negative words and wrong accusations and our Pastor and congregation need God’s healing touch and reuniting.

It’s time for each one of us to do what David did in this verse. He cried out to his Lord and God. Yes, he prayed.

We don’t need to talk about it at length to others. We don’t need to contemplate what to do about it. All it takes is going to our Lord God and ask Him for healing and then believe Him for it.

What did David say his Lord did for him when he prayed? David said, “You healed me.”

Prayer will bring it on. We have seen many people and situations healed from just a simple prayer.

Spend time with God and pray for your healing.

Dear God in Heaven,

I praise Your name for You are beautiful in every way. I’m in Awe of You, for Great and Faithful are You!

I come to You today and ask for healing over my situation. You know what I’m going through and how much heartache and pain I am suffering. I repent if I have contributed to any of it and I ask for Your forgiveness. I am sorry.

If there are steps I need to take on my end, Father, I ask for Your guidance and for You to show me and give me clear direction so that I may follow through.

I (we) arrest satan and his attack against me (us) this day and bind him and all his schemes that are trying to take me (us) out. His work this day is null and void and he has NO power over me (us), we declare in the name of Jesus Christ.

Thank you Father, for Your mighty work and Your healing power over me (us) and I (we) give you ALL the glory, honor and praise this day. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-30-16

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

If we are a child of God, we have a light inside of us. This light was given to each and every one of us who has professed faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior.

It wasn’t just given to pastors, apostles, prophets or evangelists. It was given to us all, without favor being shown to one group of people over another.

And so as we carry this light, it’s our responsibility to let it shine wherever we go, to draw attention to God and give Him glory in all we do.

It is not meant to draw attention to ourselves. It isn’t meant to bring honor to people. As we shine this light to those around us, it should always draw people to God, the Creator of this light.

So how do we shine this light? By loving others, being kind to those we come into contact with, no matter what kind of mood we happen to be in at the moment. We shine this light by showing the love of God, just as Jesus loved those He interacted with.

This doesn’t mean that we have to quote scripture with every sentence. It doesn’t mean that we have to preach to everyone we meet. It simply means that we love them with God’s love and show them the love that God has shown to us.

It is these actions that will draw them to God, without them necessarily knowing right away that it’s God drawing them.

Kindness opens doors that harshness will never open. A smile and kind word will do more good than a rebuke will ever hope to accomplish. And when we shine God’s light on a daily basis, people will see God in us.

And seeing God in us will bring honor and glory to Him in so many ways.

So let your light shine before men.

Matthew 5:14 (NKJV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-28-16

Job 20:4-5 (NKJV) 4 “Do you not know this of old, since man was placed on earth, 5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment?

Watching the wickedness in the world can be pretty frustrating. You might even say that it’s exasperating. Sometimes it might seem like the wicked always win and that it never ends.

But fear not! God is still on the throne and He is well aware of everything that happens each and every day.

Though it might seem like the wicked always win and they never seem to get caught, God has assured us in the verse above, and other verses like this, that wickedness will not go unpunished, nor will it last forever.

So instead of us focusing on the wickedness we see, let’s focus on God and what He has for our lives.

It won’t make the wickedness go away, but it will surely make our lives more fruitful and more enjoyable as we draw near to Him and push the things of this world aside.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-27-16

John 15:16 (NKJV) 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

If we allow God to have control over our lives… He will!

He will appoint us and we will bear fruit. He will open doors for us to walk through, even if we don’t know how to do it. He will show us and our fruit will remain!

Many years ago, there was a job listing in the local newspaper for office work. I had no experience in this field. I had very little typing experience, no communication skills, and only basic computer skills. But I knew I needed to go after this job.

The first thing they asked me was “can you type?”. I had been practicing with a computer typing tutorial recently, so I said yes, thinking that I would get better, the more I did it.

Well, immediately after asking me this, they sat me down and gave me a typing test.

As I sat down to take the test, my hands were shaking. I was so nervous.

I prayed, “God, I’m here where I feel you wanted me to come, now I need your help”. I took the test and when I was done, she looked at me and said “good enough”, and hired me on the spot. It was a position in a big beautiful office, for someone who had very little when it came to office skills.

I started out as the secretary and it wasn’t long before I was reconciling huge financial accounts.

My work skills grew quickly and I fit in nicely. My boss would say to me at times, “you puzzle me. There are many things you don’t have any experience in, but yet you can do this job fine”.

When God appoints us to do a job, He will give us the knowhow if we rest in Him.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Don’t you dare give up! If you are in a place where you know you belong but you’re not sure how to do the job fully, ask anything of Him and He will help.

Hang in there. Keep your chin up and your eyes on Him, and you will bear FRUIT and your fruit will remain! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-26-16

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

On our own, we are weak and feeble; Powerless.

But through Him, we are strong and mighty; Powerful!

Sometimes we don’t feel very strong or very mighty. And we definitely have many times when we don’t feel powerful.

Why? Because we get caught in the trap of the enemy and we start looking at things through our own eyes, instead of the eyes of God.

Our heads will always show us the worst of everything. Our minds will believe the lies of the enemy because we can’t make sense of something or because we can’t comprehend what God is telling us He is going to do for us.

But we don’t live by our heads, our understanding or our intellect. We live by the Spirit of God!

Romans 8:13 (NKJV) 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

If we live by our heads, we will trust only what our eyes can see. But as we learn to live by God’s spirit, we will learn a new way of trusting Him. And as we learn to trust Him in everything, we will no longer rely on our eyes or our natural understanding.

Instead, we will begin to learn to walk by faith! And as we learn to walk in faith, our spiritual eyes will be opened and we will see things in a whole new light.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Let’s not fall prey to the wiles of the enemy, which bring spiritual blindness and weakness. But, instead, put on the armor of God that we can stand in victory!

Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV) 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-25-16

Philippians 1:3 (NKJV) 3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you…

We wanted to take a few minutes today to share our gratitude with you all.

God has blessed us tremendously with each of you and we know that we are not alone in doing what we do.

There are times when we are so humbled by your encouraging words and we know that God is using you at that very moment to share with us in one way or another.

Your support through prayer and finances has gotten us this far and we truly are grateful and appreciative of the sacrifices you have made and the steps of faith you have taken to help this ministry.

Whether it’s taking time out of a busy schedule to pray for us, or working from a tight budget to give to us, or taking time out of a crazy day to write to us and tell us how much you love Bible Verse of The Day. We truly appreciate it all.

We can’t say it enough how wonderful it is to have such a loving family, and yet we have never met you face to face. That’s God!

We are praying that if it is His will, that we would be able to meet each one of you personally someday. We would absolutely love to be able to do this.

We would love to do a road trip some day and stop by in each state or fly to other countries to say hi and maybe have a meal together. This isn’t a realistic possibility at the moment.

But for now, with all sincerity and humbleness, we say “Thank You”. We love you dearly. You are our family and you are greatly appreciated!!

Our prayers are with you. May God continue to bless you, provide for you and keep you safe as you remain steadfast in Him.

Psalm 91:1-2 (NKJV) 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Love in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-24-16

Luke 23:33 (NKJV) 33 And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.

There they crucified Him.

Crucifixion is one of the most cruel means of execution that was ever developed by any civilization. But it was that exact death that Jesus died, for you and for me.

Too many times, the scourging and the crucifixion of Jesus is portrayed in movies and in paintings to be much less brutal than it really was. And while I understand the logic behind this, since the real acts would be much more than most people could bear to see, it’s important that we understand the extent of the pain and suffering that Jesus endured on the cross, for us.

Jesus left His place in Heaven, came and walked the earth as a man, with the purpose of giving His life for us, to redeem us from our sins.

He did this to give us new life; a life free from the chains of sin and death. A life free from the torments of anxiety, worry and fear. His death and subsequent resurrection destroyed the chains of satan in the lives of all those who embrace Him in faith.

This message isn’t to convict or condemn us, but to remind us of the price that was paid for our lives. It was a very steep price, but with the ultimate reward for us all.

So as we contemplate and ponder on that very high price that was paid for each of us, let’s be sure to honor Him with our lives, as we live them each day.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-23-16

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

If we let Him teach us how to walk by His Spirit, this fruit will flow out of our inward parts and it will be evident that God is with us.

The flesh wrestles with the Spirit at times because the two don’t always see eye to eye, so to speak. This is especially true if we have been hurt, mistreated or violated in any way.

God’s Spirit moving in us will act with kindness, goodness, etc., despite what we may be feeling from the things we have been through. This is only possible by us emulating the love that God has for us.

God’s love for us has been spoken and shown through His Son’s death on the cross, even though we are a sinful people.

Romans 5:8 (NKJV) 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

While our hearts were in rebellion against Him, He acted out in love. He didn’t act in anger, hatred, violence, or in a demeaning, hurtful way.

Let His fruit take precedence in our lives that it becomes a natural way to respond to any given situation. And through it, God may get the Glory! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-21-16

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) 12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

We are not our own. If we have put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, then we belong to God. We are His.

As His children, He has asked us to present our bodies as living sacrifices.

This might sound like something that’s difficult to do or to achieve. And if we try to do it on our own, it is difficult. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, it becomes so much easier.

The best way to become a living sacrifice to God is to put Him first in everything that we do. As we do this, it becomes a constant reminder of who we are and Who we belong to!

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-20-16

Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV) 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

As followers of Christ, God expects us to do everything with excellence.

This doesn’t mean that we have to be perfect. It means that when we set about doing something, He wants us to do it to the very best of our ability, as though we were doing it for Him.

It can be easy to do something halfheartedly, especially if we’re doing it for someone else. Sometimes we get the attitude that “it’s good enough”. So we finish what we’re doing and then move on to something else.

But just being “good enough” isn’t what God asks of us. He wants us to do all things as if we we’re doing them for Him!

This applies to our jobs, our school work, our chores, the help that we offer to others, etc. We spend our days doing things. We work, we go to school and we help those around us who are in need.

So when we’re doing these things, we need to be diligent and mindful to give what we do 100% of our effort and attention. Not 90%. Not 75%. Not 50%. Not even 99%. We need to give it our all.

Yes, it requires more effort. And yes, it may require more time to do it right. But if God requires that we do it as unto Him, who are we to disagree?
