Bible Verse of The Day – 2-27-24

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV) 8 And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

One day I was watching an artist paint a picture. It was a painting of Jesus holding a Lamb.

As I was watching, it came time for him to draw the eyes. It was like the painting came alive and the eyes of Jesus were looking right at me.

I squirmed a bit in my seat. It was that touching. Deep inside of me I heard, “I see you”.

Tears began to come down my cheek, because only the Lord knew what I was feeling at this time in my life.

I had truly been feeling alone. I thought I was the only one that knew what I was going through.

It’s funny how He knows even the slightest thoughts we may have. And He addresses them as we put our faith in Him.

That moment I heard, “I see you”, it touched me so deeply. I couldn’t stop my tears from flowing. It surely was a God moment as the Holy Spirit spoke to me through this painting.

You just never know when or how the Lord will answer your unspoken thoughts or concerns.

That day a weight was lifted from me.

I want you to know today, He sees you too.

He sees what is going on in your life right now, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is going to be there with you through thick and thin. You don’t run this race alone.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-8-24

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…

We are going to talk a little about Job today.

We probably all know the story of how the enemy came and took everything Job had, except his wife.

He stole Job’s health, his children and all his livestock. He tried to sway Job so he would turn away from God.

But Job would not turn on God. He remained close to Him and obeyed Him.

Those who obey God will end up with a blessed and fulfilling life.

In Job’s instance, God blessed his latter years. He ended up with more sheep, oxen, and other livestock than he previously had!

Job 8:7 (NKJV) 7 Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly.

Yes, Job had to start all over again.

How many of us have made some foolish choices or fallen on hard times, and here we are, starting all over again from nothing?

But can I ask how many of us can look back today and say, “I learned so much from that.”?

Troubled times, seasons of great loss, and the hits we suffer will teach us how to press in, obey and follow closer to God than ever before.

But as we are diligent in pressing in to Him, and not giving up, He will bless our latter days more than the beginning.

Job 42:12 (NKJV) 12 Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

Even though the enemy stole from Job, and we may think Job had every right to give up, He persevered, and didn’t give up on God!

Job lived 140 years and saw his children and grandchildren grow for 4 generations. He died old and full of days.

Job 42:16-17 (NKJV) 16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. 17 So Job died, old and full of days.

So, take heart. The enemy may hit us hard at times, but it’s not over for us!

Job had a good life even after he took a huge hit. The enemy tried to destroy him, but the Lord  fully restored him as he stood firm and trusted his God!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-19-24

Psalm 73:26 (NLT) 26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.

One of the things we can attest to as believers and followers of Christ is the steadfastness and faithfulness of God.

Our health may fail. We may face personal health crises that seem insurmountable, but God never fails.

We may grow weak in spirit due to attacks we face, hurdles that stand in front of us, or obstacles that seem immovable. But God never changes, and He never forsakes us.

He is the strength that keeps our heart from being destroyed.

Yes, our heart may be broken at times from the things that life hits us with. We may feel like our knees will buckle and our legs will fold beneath us. But God is the Giver of strength when we have run out.

It is important to note that the word used for “strength” in the verse above is literally “rock” in the original transcripts.

And He is our Rock.

He is the firm foundation upon which we can stand, knowing that He will never falter or fail.

Look at the obstacle standing in front of you and know that nothing is bigger than our God.

Nothing can defeat Him, and nothing catches Him off guard.

Difficulties may come, but our strength comes from Him, not from our flesh or the things of this world.

He is ever-present. He never forsakes us.

Let us hold fast to Him in obedience as He leads us through the storms of life.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-16-24

Psalm 9:1 (NKJV) 1 I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.

God has been so very faithful to me.

Sometimes I don’t see it all, but I’ve been learning to stop and watch. To stop and ponder. And to stop and praise Him.

I’ve been learning that life flies by. And if we don’t stop the busyness, or slow it down and notice the important things, they will fly by unnoticed as well.

There is no, “thank you God for what you just did for me,” because I didn’t stop long enough to see it. I didn’t even notice it took place. Yet, He did it for me. I’m just too busy carrying on with my usual stuff.

Changes are happening all the time.

People that were sick are now feeling better. People that were in hardship are now past those hard times and moving forward.

People that needed to make difficult decisions have made them and moved past it, and are now in a different place.

See what He is doing in our life, and take the time to thank Him, to praise Him, and to recognize that He did it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-4-24

John 10:14-15 (NKJV) 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

And I know My sheep.

That right there brings me so much comfort.

As we all know, at times we can be tested. Sometimes our thoughts and emotions will have us saying, “God, are you there?”.

We can surely know now that He would go the extra mile for us.

Why? Because He’s already done it.

David would often plead with Him, “do not hide from me oh, Lord. Come quickly and save me”.

Psalm 69:17 (NKJV) 17 And do not hide Your face from Your servant, For I am in trouble; Hear me speedily.

We aren’t the only ones who need God to act fast. David seemed to always be battling enemies.

Believe me when I tell you, God already knows. But, He still wants us to come to Him. He wants us to lean on Him; to run to Him and tell Him, like David, “I’m in deep trouble”.

Acknowledging the state we are in will cause us to get serious.

I don’t think David was playing games when He cried out. He knew where His help came from, and we need to know God is there.

His righteous right hand will hold us up.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

He is known by His sheep.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-23

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Many Christians will often quote this verse.

It is a piece of Biblical wisdom that has withstood the test of time and has held true down through the centuries.

Sometimes this verse may seem inappropriately overquoted, to the point where it seems to lose some of its meaning.

And rightly so, since people do sometimes tend to use certain phrases loosely.

But that doesn’t mean that it has lost its meaning. God is faithful. He never changes, and His word never loses its truth.

If many of us were to look at our own lives, we would see that this verse speaks truth, and many of us can testify to that truth.

On a personal level, I can look back at many situations in my own life that looked very bleak on the surface, especially to my human eyes.

But as each one played out, God showed me how He works, and how He can take bad and turn it into good.

Does this mean that nothing bad will happen to us?

No. Bad things happen. And they even happen to good people, including God’s children.

Jesus told us this. He said trials and tribulations will come. But He also told us to be of good cheer, and to find our peace in Him, because He has overcome the world.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

So, it’s important that we trust God even during storms and hard times. And especially during times when we feel like we don’t understand what is happening.

It is these kinds of situations that can be used to strengthen our faith and trust in God if we allow Him to use them as such.

It is seldom easy, but each hard thing that we face holds the opportunity to bring us closer to God and grow as a believer. We just need to make the choice to let God guide our every step, our every thought and our every word.

Romans 5:3-4 (NKJV) 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-14-23

Psalm 9:9-10 (NKJV) 9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. 10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

As we seek Him and put our trust in Him, He is there with us through thick and thin.

So many times, I’ve been in predicaments in my life that were very difficult, like most of you. When that has happened, He was there!

He was there when I was lost, coaxing me and drawing me by the Holy Spirit.

As I sat listening to the preacher telling me all about Him, the moment came when I knew I had to get up out of my seat and walk down that aisle and repent, putting my faith in Him, trusting Him as my Savior.

He was there when I was going to get blamed for something I didn’t do but had been tagging along with others who were trouble.

He was there when I was testing the boundaries, feeling conviction, but trying to ignore it.

He was there when I almost lost everything I owned.

He was there when my loved ones passed away.

He was there when I was broken, when I cried so hard my eyes ached from the tears.

He is always there, and has always protected, shielded, comforted and brought me through it all.

You see if we do not break, He can never fix us.

He waits for us to stop trying to hold it all together by our own strength. We can break. We can let go. We can admit that we cannot bear any more of what we are dealing with.

He is there. He is our refuge. He will mend us if we let Him.

God bless you and keep you safe, today and forever. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-9-23

Psalm 61:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

How many times do we find ourselves crying out to God in this same way?

“God, can you hear me? I need to know what to do. I need to know how to handle this situation. I need to know what to put on my plate and what to take off. I am so overwhelmed right now, please attend to my prayer.”

I feel like I’m always crying out to God for help.

Sometimes, I sound like a broken record. But, I do this because I have experienced His help many times in my life. There really is no other help like My Rock that is higher than I.

Every time, He has shown me, carried me, held me.

He has led  me through the shadow of death with His rod and staff. He got me to the other side. And I was not destroyed.

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

He knows, children of God! He has the answer. And no matter how many times we need to cry out for Him, He will be our Rock!

Who is crying today for help? Do you know that your Rock will be there for you? He will take your overwhelmed heart and comfort you.

He is our VICTORY! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-13-23

Psalm 42:8 (NKJV) 8 The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me — A prayer to the God of my life.

This beautiful Psalm sums up God’s incredible faithfulness in just two lines.

Life can sometimes be extremely hard. We all have battles to fight and things we must face in our lives.

But we never face them alone.

God is our faithful Guide, leading us through each trial we walk through.

He sent the Holy Spirit to teach us, help us, lead us, and guide each step we take.

Whether it is daytime or nighttime, He is there.

As He led the Israelites by night with a pillar of fire, He also leads us with His spirit.

Many say that because we are His children, we should never face trials or calamity, but His word tells us that isn’t the case.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

So, we say to you today, it is time for us to take our eyes off the thing that stands before us, appearing to block our path and hold us back.

Instead, let us fix our eyes on our Creator and Redeemer, the author and finisher of our faith, holding steadfast in the face of any adversity and holding tightly to Him.

Why?

Because He is faithful.

Lamentations 5:19 (NLT) 19 But Lord, you remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-7-23

Psalm 94:17-19 (NKJV) 17 Unless the Lord had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence. 18 If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. 19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

No matter what we face in our lives, God is there with us.

He is our refuge and our strength in times of trouble or distress (Psalm 46:1).

In all of life’s ups, downs, storms and battles, God is our source of hope.

The things we face can often seem insurmountable. And sometimes they are if we fight them on our own, by our own strength and with our own understanding.

Not every battle is easily won. In fact, some may very well feel like they will be our demise; our end.

But if we look to God for our help, He will walk us through each situation step by step.

As we allow Him to, He will give us understanding.

And as we let Him, He will strengthen us when we are weak.

He breathes new life into us as we surrender to Him.

No matter what we are facing right now, God has the answer that we need.

Sometimes that answer might not be what we are expecting. It might not even be what we want. But it is the right answer.

Isaiah 55:9 (NKJV) 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

We need to be careful not to reject His answer just because it isn’t what we were expecting.

Trust Him. Let Him show us what it is that we need to see, and tell us what we need to hear.

And as we do this, we will see that His comforts will delight our soul.
