Bible Verse of The Day – 3-1-19

Malachi 3:10 (NKJV) 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

Is our money spent before we even cash our check? Are we just buying things on the spur of the moment, things that we don’t need? Are we dining out more then we dine at home?

Watching what we spend our money on and taking the time to invest it into a good place will help us to be the head and not the tail. God is willing to do His part, but are we willing to step up to the plate and do ours? He can only work with what we give Him.

Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV) 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

We may not even think about God when it comes to our money. We just keep on doing what we’ve always done and leave Him out of the equation. And we find ourselves constantly in the same boat; never ahead.

God wants to help us. He wants to open for us the windows of heaven and pour out blessings.

We challenge you today, if you are not already giving to God from your firstfruits, start by setting a date and begin to put Him first on your list of expenses. Watch how things begin to change for you.

We are not saying it will happen instantly. It may or may not. But, as you are faithful and obedient with your money, you will at some point begin to see His favor working in your life. You will notice at times looking at your situation and wondering how it ever worked out the way it did. Well, that’s God!

God is good. Invest in Him. He is trustworthy and a safe place to deposit into.

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-6-16

Matthew 6:21 (NKJV) 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Too many times we base our lives on the things we possess.

Success is most often measured by the quality and quantity of the things we buy and lay hold of. Certain brands and models of cars hold higher esteem in society than others.

Large houses with many rooms catch the attention of people and cause us to think that a person who owns such places must be very wealthy and successful.

The body of Christ has fallen prey to this and has taken on the same outlook as the world; Our things determine our success.

Jesus clearly warned us about this in the verse below.

Matthew 6:19-20 (NKJV) 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

So we want to remind everyone to be very careful when it comes to money and possessions. Don’t let the love of money or nice things supercede your love for God and His precepts.

Whether we drive a 15 year old car or a brand new car, if we are under the blood, we are redeemed.

Whether we live in a one-room hut or a 20 room mansion, if we are under the blood of Christ, we are a child of God.

Our possessions don’t define us or who we are. But our walk with God and the state of our heart does!

It’s not wrong to be financially successful. But we urge everyone to sincerely check your heart. Ask God to show you where your treasures truly lie. Because where your treasure lies, there your heart also lies.

Sometimes greed or stinginess can sneak up on us, a little tiny bit at a time. Especially if we have been through hard financial times or struggles.

Our actions will speak much more loudly than our words. Do we give freely, or do we hold tightly to our finances and possessions and let go only after a wrestling match with God?

Though we can try to fool ourselves and others as to our true allegiance, we can never fool our God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-14-14

Mark 10:25 (NKJV) 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Today we want to take a couple minutes to dispel a myth and expose a false teaching in the church.

The verse above has been used by many to try and convince believers that God hates wealth, He wants them to be poor and that having money will keep a person out of heaven. This is a blatant lie.

The verse above states that it can be difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, but He never said that it was impossible.

The difference between the rich man who makes it and the one who doesn’t is in their priorities.

A rich man who puts his money first will surely have a difficult time entering into the kingdom of heaven. But a rich man who loves God and handles his wealth according to God’s principles, putting God first, will have no trouble whatsoever entering into the kingdom of heaven.

Money is simply a tool. We use it to buy things we need. It can’t buy love, happiness, satisfaction or salvation. But it can make our lives a whole lot easier if there is no lack of it and we handle it properly.

Remember, it is the love of money that is the root of all evil, not money itself!
