Category: The Peace of God

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-5-19

Colossians 3:15 (NKJV) 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Let the peace of God rule…

You see, we can sometimes fight the peace of God. We can be our own worst enemy.

I know, because there are times when God is saying to me, “stop, slow down, you need to rest”, and I question Him.

That’s right, the very ONE who knows me best, created me, loves me more than I know and Who wants the best for me. I question Him at times and say, “are YOU sure, Lord? I really think I need to do this. Who else will do it if I don’t?”.

What is wrong with this picture?

Is it pride? Because pride is not good.

Is it arrogance? Because that’s not good either.

Is it fear of some type, or maybe pressure from others? Because guess what, those are not good.

What is it that makes us keep going when we truly know something is wrong? We are so tired, but we keep going. Why?

Do I really think I know better than God? I get exhausted and worn out, and I even get sick from not listening. But I’ve always got to keep doing what I’m doing.

Who knows what I’m talking about today? How can we fix this?

We can start by learning that we are not the savior, the rescuer, or the only one who can do it. There are others that can do it. They just need to step up to the plate.

But, as long as we are in the way, they won’t step up.

Come on. We have done enough for now. Pull back. Rest as God has said to do. And let the peace of God rule!

His Peace comes in when we slow down and make room for it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-9-13

(Psalm 107:29 NKJV)  He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.

Are you in a storm today? Are you stuck in a place where you don’t want to be? Do you feel like you are in prison, and you are holding the key to get out but are afraid to make the move?

God’s Peace is amazing! When going through a trial or tribulation (a storm), remember that no matter how big of a wave it is, He will calm that thing down. How does this happen? As we follow His direction, we will feel His peace and that peace will help us to make the right moves.

Not long ago, we were in a trial. We were praying and seeking God and His answer came. It came, but we overlooked it, it was so plain and clear, but not what we were looking for.

Time went on and we tried doing everything we knew to do by our  own understanding…the storm was getting worse and worse, those big nasty waves kept beating on us, the pressure was getting heavier and we were getting weak and tired from the constant beating.

We finally sat back down and asked God, “What are we missing?”, only to hear the same thing He had told us the first time we asked.

He showed us again and we began to take the steps, like He said to do, and His peace was there instantly and things began to work out. The storm was calmed!!

Sometimes we can miss what God is saying to us to do because we feel so strong that it should be done another way. But if we miss it the first time, just get back with Him and repent and ask Him if it’s too late or can we try again to get it right?

There are times we will miss the timing for something, and it doesn’t come back around again. But there are also those times we do get another chance.

We learned that no matter what storm we go through in life, we can still have peace in it as long as we follow God, because He is the “Calmer of the STORM!”

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-27-13

(1 John 1:5 NKJV)  This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

In Him there is no darkness at all.

This cannot be said of anyone else. God is light.

He is the source of everything good and everything true. He breathed life into us. He gives us His grace and mercy.

He is our source, our provider, our healer and our redeemer.

He is the author and finisher of our faith. He gives us peace and joy.

He is so much more than all of these things, but please remember one thing; He will never, ever bring confusion, stress or worry into our lives.

So if we’re feeling any of these things, know that these things come from the enemy of our soul, the devil.

Remember this as you make choices and decisions… that if you have peace, it comes from God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-13-13

(Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; {6} In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Trust in the Lord. These are words that we are learning to live by more and more each day.

We have been going through some trials the past several months and they are causing us to really check ourselves and see where our trust really lies.

We have been in a period of waiting that seems endless. If we were not trusting in God, we just might lose all hope.

But I stand today and proclaim boldly that we will trust in the Lord with all of our heart, and we will seek His understanding in all things.

We will shout from the mountaintops and from the valley, “God, we praise you in the midst of this storm and we worship you no matter what comes our way”.

Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-10-13

(Philippians 4:4 NKJV)  Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

We have two words for everyone today. The first is “Rejoice”!

No matter what we are facing, we need to learn to rejoice. When you feel like the whole world is against you, Rejoice! Be thankful for your blessings… the little things. Don’t get caught up in the negative, but thanks God for the good things.

The Israelites spent 40 years making a 12-day journey. Why? Because they grumbled and complained, instead of rejoicing.

(Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

And as you rejoice, “be anxious for nothing”. Bring your requests to God and be thankful! Make your requests known and then rest in Him, knowing that His peace can overcome any kind of turmoil that tries to overtake you.

God’s peace can’t be understood or comprehended by our minds. But it will carry us through the storms and bring us safely to the other side where we can celebrate our victory in Christ.

Rejoice and rest in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-12

(Colossians 3:15 NKJV)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

As we enter into a new week let us let peace rule in our hearts.

Know that stress, chaos, confusion, irritations, and frustrations will always be present. But we don’t have to fall into their trap and let them have a place in our hearts.

God’s Word says to let PEACE rule. Anything that rules means it exhorts control, it exercises authority or power over, and it dominates. We may have to fight to keep the peace of God ruling in our heart, but it will be well worth it.

Walk in peace this week, and be thankful, for we serve an AWESOME Father who cares deeply about us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-2-12

(Rev 22:20 NKJV)  He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Of the entire Bible, this verse intrigues me more than any other verse.

There is something about it that keeps echoing inside my spirit. For years this has stuck with me, especially the final line, “Even so, come Lord Jesus!”

This is such an impactful statement of finality… Come, Lord Jesus. Everything is completed, the world is yours, come now and possess what is rightfully yours; what you died for.

These words stir me inside like no others.

Let God speak to you today and stir you inside with His words. Let Him breathe new life into your weary soul. Let Him encourage you and lift you up.

He is your God and you are His child.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-23-12

(Col 3:15 NKJV)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

The peace of God… it’s something that we sometimes don’t pay enough attention to or give enough importance to.

Have you ever done something, or planned or attempted to do something that seemed perfectly logical, or maybe somebody was pushing you to do something, but you just didn’t have a “good feeling” about it?

How about on the opposite side of things?

Have you ever done something that makes no sense to the logical mind, especially to those around you, but you had a peace about it and you just knew it was what you needed to do?

Maybe you or the people around you didn’t understand how you could have peace about doing something that seemed so odd and illogical to the natural mind.

(Phil 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God’s peace passes all understanding. What does that mean?

Sometimes the things that God wants us to do will look foolish to the natural mind and if we try to figure it out, it just won’t make sense.

(1 Cor 1:27 NKJV)  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

So if you’re considering doing something, or if you feel like God has asked you to do something or is moving you in a specific direction, and it just doesn’t make sense to your head, check your “peace meter”. If your peace meter is registering on the low side, maybe you need to think twice about doing it. Maybe it’s not really God, after all.

But if you feel that peace of God and your peace meter is running on the high side, even though the things you’re doing might not seem logical to the natural mind, then go ahead and take that next step.

Let God guide you and keep a close eye on your peace meter.
