Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God\u2019s word is absolute. It\u2019s the building blocks upon which our faith sits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

His word is truth; absolute truth. We either believe it in its entirety, or not at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Sadly, some people like to \u201ccherry pick\u201d the word of God. They believe some things, but not others. They follow parts of it, but not all of it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As children of God, we have never been given His permission to be selective in our believing. He has not told us that it\u2019s OK to believe one scripture while rejecting another. It\u2019s all or nothing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This has led to a dilution, a \u201cwatering down\u201d of the Word that renders it weak and ineffective in many ways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Adultery is no longer sinful in the eyes of some. Fornication is OK under certain circumstances. Stealing is OK if it meets certain conditions. Gossip is acceptable if its intentions are \u201cgood\u201d. And the list could go on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But it\u2019s time for the body of Christ to take a stand. God\u2019s word was not written for us to decide which parts we like and don\u2019t like.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We need to make sure that we are not submitting ourselves to anything less than the whole word of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we are under leadership that blatantly disregards parts of His word, we need to make a choice. We either hold them accountable for their error or place ourselves under different leadership that will speak God\u2019s word without compromise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Let’s be honest. Error will always be taught somewhere, by someone. It\u2019s a fact of life. But that doesn\u2019t mean that we have to condone it or sit idly by and do nothing about it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The signs of the times include such things. Selective teaching. Selective hearing. Itching ears.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

2 Timothy 4:3-8 (NKJV) 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Let us not be people with itching ears.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
