Luke 5:38 (NKJV) 38 But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Change can be hard. Even if we know it may be good for us, it\u2019s still hard to actually follow through with it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Some people may be stuck in a rut because they cannot make the switch. It\u2019s not that they don\u2019t want to. They have every intention to. But when they look at the whole picture it is overwhelming.<\/p>\n

God does not expect us to change everything all at once. He knows it will take some time. A little here and a little there is usually sufficient. Just as long as we are willing and we obey His steps, that is all that really matters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How can we get past this?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Most times we put off changing because inside we are scared of the new. It is usually something we\u2019ve never done and we don\u2019t know what the outcome will be. So, we would rather stay with the known than to enter into the unknown. Why? Because we are familiar with it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Israelites had a similar attitude. They were set free from the bondage they were in, but after a while they wanted to go back to the familiarity of the past.<\/p>\n

Numbers 14:4 (NKJV) 4 So they said to one another, \u201cLet us select a leader and return to Egypt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Are we thinking on the same line today as the Israelites? If so, we need help. The old is not better than the new, no matter how comforting it may seem to us in our minds.<\/p>\n

Luke 5:39 (NKJV) 39 And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, \u2018The old is better<\/span>.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

We may not like the new change at first, but over time we will find it is what we needed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

When God wants\u00a0to do something new in us, we have to be ready to receive it, even if we don\u2019t know the outcome. We need to be newly renovated today. We can’t let our love for familiarity work against the newness that God wants to pour into us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
