Luke 2:11 (NKJV) 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, December 25, we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While this date is more than likely not the actual birth date of Jesus, it is the day that has been set aside to commemorate His birth and celebrate the day that the Light of the world stepped down out of heaven and took up residence here with us in an earth suit… a human body.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Immanuel, God with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) 23 \u201cBehold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,\u201d which is translated, \u201cGod with us.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s important that we understand the significance of that phrase, \u201cGod with us\u201d. For it seems that most times it is very overlooked.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many might simply say it means God is with us. But in reality, it more accurately means God, with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To say that God is with us is a more ambiguous statement that means God is with us in a general sense.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But to fully understand this, we will know that those three words point directly to Jesus and state boldly, \u201cThis is Jesus, God with us\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And this is why we celebrate!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

God chose to come to earth and dwell among us in the person of Jesus Christ, not acting as a King to be served, but to be made a little lower than the angels and become a servant to all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hebrews 2:9 (NKJV) 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, join us today in celebrating the birth of our Savior and King, Jesus Christ, Lord of all. God, with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Amen!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
