1 Kings 19:9 (NKJV) 9 And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, \u201cWhat are you doing here, Elijah?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Elijah was hiding out in a cave. His life had been threatened and he became afraid of what he thought was going to happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If fear can cause Elijah, a prophet of God, to run and hide\u00a0I\u2019d say it can get the best of us too.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God was like, “Elijah, what are you doing here?”. Elijah had\u00a0picked up and run when Jezabel had threatened to kill him. He answered God and\u00a0said, \u201cGod, they’re going to kill me!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

1 Kings 19:10 So he said, \u201cI have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

You see, Elijah was intimidated by what he heard. He took it as though it was absolute. That it was final.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Let us learn a lesson, that no matter how big and bad the enemy may look or sound, no matter what he tries to say he is going to do to us, We stand on the promises of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How many of us today are on the run? We need to stop running, hiding and avoiding people and situations because of fear.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God told Elijah go and to return to the wilderness. And he gave him specific instructions as to what to do when he got there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

1 Kings 19:15 (NKJV) 15 Then the Lord said to him: \u201cGo, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God does not want us running in fear.\u00a0He wants us\u00a0to stand even when the enemy is trying to take us out.<\/p>\n

Go.\u00a0Return to our station, and\u00a0heed God\u2019s voice.\u00a0He will give us direction. Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
