Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As each day passes, and I spend time watching and listening to what other believers share about God, I have noticed something that really saddens me.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We\u2019ve turned Christianity around so that everything is backwards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So much of what we hear, see and are taught revolves around how to get everything we can get from God. But we hear so little about what we can give <\/em>to God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We need to change our attitude. We need to stop constantly looking for what we<\/em> want and ask God what He <\/em>wants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Remember, it\u2019s more about Him, than it is about us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV) 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Yes, He wants to bless us and reward us. But those things are not first and foremost in our relationship with Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Imagine having children who only looked to us for what they wanted, but not to give anything in return.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What kind of relationship would that be? How would that work out for the children as they grew up and matured? And how empty would we feel as parents if all we did was give, but never got anything genuine in return?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s kind of a bleak picture, isn\u2019t it? Spoiled kids and hurt parents, with nothing to show for the love and care they gave to their children, except a broken, empty heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Church, let\u2019s start putting God first, where He belongs. And let\u2019s stop looking at Him as a Genie in a bottle that we have only to grant us our every wish.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
