1 John 2:3 (NKJV) 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Have you ever questioned whether you really know God or not?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Most of us do this from time to time for various reasons. It can be good to check ourselves and make sure we\u2019re on the right path, so to speak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But sometimes we might wrestle with this in the sense that we think we have no sure way to know. While that might seem true, there actually is <\/em>a way to know!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The verse above tells us that we will know that we know Him if we keep His commandments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And in verse 5, we are reassured that if we keep His word then we are \u201cin Him\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

1 John 2:5 (NKJV) 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The thing to remember is that none of us will be perfect in our pursuit of Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We may make some poor choices from time to time that make us feel terrible. These things may cause us to question our sincerity in our relationship with Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

While this might be frustrating for us, it also might be good for us to see where we really are. After all, we can\u2019t make corrections if we don\u2019t see where our heart truly lies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

On the positive side, the fact that we would even be bothered by doing the wrong thing tells us that our heart wants <\/em>to do right.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Most times it\u2019s just a matter of figuring out where it is that we keep slipping and falling, and then making adjustments that help us stop doing that thing over and over again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God\u2019s word tells us that He is faithful to help us resist temptation if we truly want to do the right thing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He also tells us that if we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, let\u2019s be faithful and diligent to seek Him, listen for His voice and then do what he shows us to do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Amen!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
