Nehemiah 4:6 (NKJV) 6 So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nehemiah had seen the terrible state of Jerusalem. The city was in ruins, and its protective wall had also been destroyed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because of this, his heart was broken and he wanted to fix it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nehemiah was only one man, but God had given him a vision for what needed to be done, so he set about gathering the people to help him get it done.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Things weren\u2019t easy for Nehemiah. He had plenty of opposition in a man named Sanballat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nehemiah 4:1 (NKJV) 4 But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The opposition became so strong that Nehemiah and his men actually worked with swords in one hand and the tools needed to rebuild the wall in the other hand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But Nehemiah and his men stayed strong, pushed through the opposition and, with perseverance and determination, they rebuilt the entire wall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

You see, when God plants a vision in us, we will have what it takes to make it happen, even if it means\u00a0pushing back our opposition and getting others to help with it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Having God backing us doesn\u2019t mean that it will all happen easily, with no opposition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

On the contrary, when God is doing something, the opposition will sometimes grow stronger. But God will always lead us and equip us, even surrounding us with those He wants to help us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s up to us to hold fast to God, push back against our enemies and follow God as He leads us to victory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
