Luke 11:4 (NKJV) 4 And forgive us our sins,\u00a0For\u00a0we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation,\u00a0But\u00a0deliver us from the evil one<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Forgive us our sins, for we have forgiven those indebted to us.<\/p>\n

Are we holding anyone in debt?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Just as we need God\u2019s forgiveness, we also need to forgive others. Daily we must set our will to walk in love and forgiveness. It doesn’t matter what they have done or said, we are not to keep them\u00a0indebted\u00a0to us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How do we do this?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s a big change that needs to happen in our hearts.\u00a0It takes the Holy Spirit\u00a0and time to learn to walk consistently in this.\u00a0It takes us loving God so much that even if it hurt us, we will obey.<\/p>\n

We are easily tempted to not forgive people when they deliberately hurt us. It is a human reaction. We get stubborn and we clam up. Sometimes we never speak to them again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is not a question of should we<\/em>.\u00a0It is a must. There are consequences if we do not.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Matthew 6:15 (NKJV) 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Our hearts have to be very close to Him to be ready to forgive in this manner.\u00a0There has to be an understanding that it is the righteous thing to do.<\/p>\n

When we are walking closely with God, it will be more noticeable when we are holding onto something, and we will want to make it right.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Spend time reading His word.\u00a0He will get close. When it comes time to forgive, our heart will be ready and we won\u2019t even flinch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Forgive them, let them go, and we will be forgiven for ours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV) 25 \u201cI, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
