Psalm 37:4 (NKJV) 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What are the desires of our hearts?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That\u2019s a pretty major question that we each need to ask ourselves.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Why should we be asking that question?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because it will tell us a lot about our walk with God. It will show us where our hearts lie.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Our hearts will focus on the things that mean the most to us. We will spend our time and our efforts putting energy into those things. They will dominate our thoughts and our conversations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Matthew 6:21 (NKJV) 21\u00a0For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The funny thing is that we can think<\/em> our heart is in the right place, but our actions will sometimes show us otherwise. It\u2019s only when we take an honest look at ourselves that we will recognize this. And when we do<\/em> recognize it, whether we then see the need to change or not will also tell us a lot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Sometimes God will show us something, but we turn a blind eye, saying \u201cNot me, God. I don\u2019t do that!\u201d. But if God is tapping us on the shoulder, we need to be sure to take heed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Our honesty with God and ourselves is the key to fixing any problems as quickly as possible. And if we\u2019re still not sure about it, we just need to listen to ourselves as we speak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Matthew 15:18 (NKJV) 18\u00a0But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Are we wondering why God doesn\u2019t seem to be giving us the desires of our hearts? Sometimes it\u2019s just a matter of timing. We need to wait on Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Other\u00a0times it\u2019s because our desires don\u2019t align with His desires.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As we press in to Him, and we learn to line our desires up with God\u2019s heart, we will begin to see our desires answered and fulfilled.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
