Romans 1:18 (NKJV) 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

My heart goes out to the lost.<\/p>\n

I know, though, that men choose their path. We all do. And at times some will deliberately reject God. That\u2019s right; they choose the unrighteous path.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And God can\u2019t stand it. He really cannot STAND to be near or around sin. So, what does that tell us? If we are deliberately choosing sin, and ignoring truth, He will not and cannot be near us, even if He loves us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That\u2019s why when Jesus was on the cross, He cried out, “why have you forsaken me?”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Matthew 27:46 (NKJV) 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, \u201cEli, Eli, lama\u00a0sabachthani?<\/span>\u201d that is, \u201cMy God, My God, why have You forsaken Me<\/span>?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For a short time, Jesus felt the hell experience. He was separated\u00a0from God because He took on complete identification with sinners.<\/p>\n

He took the punishment that we deserved. He carried the burden of humanity’s sin, for us, so we wouldn\u2019t have to experience it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God cannot be near sin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God’s personal wrath against sin is no joke. Rather than bringing Him glory, sin brings dishonor against God and contradicts His Holy, moral character.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It doesn\u2019t matter how bad our sin is, because sin in God\u2019s eyes is sin. There is no depth to it. It\u2019s all bad.<\/p>\n

Sin will suppress or, in other words, restrain, stifle, conceal or smother truth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The good news is that, even though God can\u00a0not come near sin, He sent us a Savior.<\/p>\n

That savior is Jesus Christ, His only Son, who\u00a0suffered and died for each one of us. He did this so that through His perfect cleansing blood\u00a0that was shed for us on the cross, we too can confess our sins, ask for God\u2019s forgiveness and He will draw near,\u00a0forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

1 John 1:9 (NKJV) 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Oh, the precious blood of Jesus that washes\u00a0our sins away! Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
