John 15:18-19 (NKJV) 18 \u201cIf the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It should come as no surprise when the world hates us because of our faith.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We do, after all, stand against almost everything the world stands for.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Furthermore, just our presence brings conviction to many, even if we speak no words. Their actions bring guilt when they see us because they know we carry the presence of Christ with us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Sometimes being disliked or hated by people can be tough to take. It\u2019s hurtful. It makes us feel like outcasts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But it\u2019s what Jesus said would happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

John 15:20 (NKJV) 20 Remember the word that I said to you, \u2018A servant is not greater than his master.\u2019 If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because He was persecuted and hated, we should also expect to be persecuted and hated because of Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

On the brighter side, though, take a look at that last sentence: If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What does that mean?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It means that there will be some who, because they would have accepted His <\/em>words, will also accept ours<\/em>, when we share the truth with them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, even though the world is full of darkness, there will be bright spots among the darkness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There is hope!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
