1 Corinthians 2:2 (NKJV) 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The teaching of God\u2019s word should always have one underlying principle. One truth that permeates everything about it; Jesus Christ and Him crucified.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Without Jesus as the foundation, nothing is done or said without the danger of possibly straying at some point.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

When we leave Christ out as the foundation, we can get ourselves into some deep trouble if we\u2019re not very, very careful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is everything.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is the glue that holds everything else together. He is a shield of truth that fends off lies, deception, spiritual perversion and false teachings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is the truth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, \u201cI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Knowing this helps us to discern what we hear, especially when it comes to what we hear taught about God\u2019s word or about the kingdom of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If what we hear revolves around Jesus, His crucifixion, His resurrection, His ascension, His deity and His active role in our everyday lives through the Holy Spirit, then we know that what we\u2019re hearing has a firm foundation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If, however, what we hear revolves around us always being happy, having a perfect life, making others like us, becoming wealthy, being popular, becoming famous, being successful, etc., we can be pretty sure that Jesus is, at best, on the fringe of what is being taught.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is an afterthought used to put a pretty bow on a shiny package.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Run from this. Run fast and run far from it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Run to Jesus, our Redeemer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Determine in your heart to know Christ, and Him crucified.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
