We hope that God is speaking to you through this mini-series on marriage and family!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Let\u2019s move ahead and wrap this up, as we conclude with discussing the duties and obligations of husbands and fathers to God and to their family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I need to be honest and forthright as we get ready to wrap this up. This is a very serious topic in a very serious season. So, I will speak plainly and sincerely, out of love for you and your family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Our family needs us to be the man; the head of the home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This means being the leader and protector in everything, both spiritual and natural. We protect them from physical harm, as well as from emotional and spiritual harm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We love them, teach them, correct where needed, and reinforce everything with God\u2019s love and nurturing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It means loving them in the way that God has called us to do, even if we may not always know quite how to do that. God\u2019s word is our treasure chest of counsel and advice. So, we need to make sure we are digging into it daily, gleaning His wisdom for our daily duties as husband and father.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s easier to brush off than to actually do it, putting it off until later.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But later rolls around much sooner than we might think. And then we look back and admonish ourselves for not doing what we knew we should have done.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There\u2019s no denying that it\u2019s a very hard task in the times that we live in. So it\u2019s critical that we (as men, husbands and fathers) make sure that our walk with God is not faltering or failing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God gives us what we need to accomplish the things He has set before us. This doesn\u2019t mean, though, that it will always be easy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We need to set our face like a flint and stand, even when standing in the face of\u00a0difficult situations isn\u2019t easy to do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Sometimes we will take hits from the very ones that we are standing up for. But we must still choose to stand if we want to be who God made us to be.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We need to stay focused and keep our eyes fixed on Him, not on all of the chaos and confusion around us. He will be faithful to guide our steps, one at a time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We just need to remain steadfast in everything, putting Him first and doing our very best, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, to be the husband and father that He has created us to be.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, as we wrap this up, to you I say this:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Build your house upon the rock. Do this and though you may occasionally falter, you will never fail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) 24 \u201cTherefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock<\/span>.<\/p>\n
