Joshua 7:13 (NKJV) 13 Get up, sanctify the people, and say, \u2018Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: \u201cThere is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We want to talk today about accursed things.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In this particular verse, God was speaking to Joshua about a man named Achan.<\/p>\n

Achan had a coveting issue (Joshua 7:21). He had taken some\u00a0things from a battle they were in. He then hid them under his tent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

They consisted of a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing 50 shekels.<\/p>\n

God had warned them not to take anything. By doing what he did, his sin and disobedience affected the whole of the children of Israel.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s right. It opened the door for defeat and destruction on them all.<\/p>\n

They had to get rid of him, his family and all his goods in order to fix things.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Accursed things\u00a0are things that God says, \u201cdon\u2019t touch”.<\/p>\n

What accursed things do we have today in our home or in our walk that have brought doom on us and have even affected others around us?<\/p>\n

This is a big deal and it has become a major problem in the lives of many, many believers.<\/p>\n

So, let’s take a closer look at this tomorrow.<\/p>\n
