2 Chronicles 6:14 (NKJV) 14 and he said: \u201cLord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven or on earth like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we spend time in the word, and we pay attention, we will notice a very common thread that runs through it from start to finish when it relates to God\u2019s covenant with His people and the mercy He bestows upon them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That thread is there from start to finish. And once we see it, we will never be able to \u201cnot see it\u201d again. It will become so obvious that we will smack our foreheads and say, \u201cwow! How did I not see that before?\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God started showing me this thread years ago. And it has stuck with me since then, becoming more and more prominent and obvious in everything that I read and study.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

By now you\u2019re probably saying, \u201cenough already! Tell me what that thread is!\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, here it is, this ultra-important thing that I\u2019m referring to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God keeps His covenant and mercy with those who walk before Him with all their hearts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now, this is a delicate, touchy subject, so it needs to be looked at carefully.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God\u2019s mercy in this verse refers to loyalty, not His willingness to forgive sin. And it is used in conjunction with the word \u201ccovenant\u201d (contract, pact, promise, pledge) which also connotates loyalty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, we need to make sure that we look at this from a loyalty point of view, not a forgiveness or redemption point of view.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now that we have established that, we can look at the meat and potatoes of this, so to speak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cWith those who walk before Him with all their hearts\u201d is the key to all of this. And this thread runs through His word, from start to finish.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is critical to our walk with Him in every aspect.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Over and over again I have seen this concept spoken of and reaffirmed throughout scripture, through the Old Testament and the New Testament.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It even applies to us seeking God and finding Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, in the end, it all comes down to this; we get out what we put in. We are blessed by God (rewarded) based on how we \u201cbless\u201d Him. His level of \u201cloyalty\u201d to us is based on the level of loyalty that we show to God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Again, this is not to be confused with His redemptive mercy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But as we get understanding in this area, we will never look at our walk with God the same way again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
