2 Peter 2:1-2 (NKJV) 1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Corruption runs amok throughout the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Governments. Big business. Big tech. Even in small towns and cities. It\u2019s everywhere.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It covers everything, from the smallest of villages to the largest of cites, and everything in between.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It lurks in small-town city councils and big-city mayors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And, guess what. It\u2019s also in the church, the body of Christ.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now, I’m not referring to \u201cchurch politics\u201d, although it does<\/em> live within that. I\u2019m referring to false teachers and false prophets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What do I mean by that?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

False teachers infiltrate the church oh so quietly. They wear big smiles. They blend in with the rest of the body. They speak words that they claim to be truth. But those words are actually lies wrapped in small pieces<\/em> of truth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And those words corrupt the gospel of Jesus Christ, eroding and destroying the foundations of our faith ever so slowly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Before we know it, the lies are being accepted as truth and the path of the church is running parallel to the path of the world; corrupt to the core by lies and deceit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s critical that we, the followers of Christ, don\u2019t fall for these lies, these half-truths. We need to be ever so vigilant, guarding the word of truth that God has imparted into us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And here\u2019s how we do that. We read and study His word. We feast on it. We digest it and we live it out each and every day in our own lives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

By doing this, we \u201cembed\u201d the word within us. And we present ourselves approved to God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Be sure we are on God\u2019s<\/em> path, not the parallel path!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
