John 5:19 (NKJV) 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Son can do nothing of Himself. Though Jesus and His Father were One, He did not do things on His own.<\/p>\n

There was not any one time that Jesus acted independently\u00a0of His Father. Instead, He only did what His Father showed Him.<\/p>\n

What does that tell us then?<\/p>\n

We need\u00a0God, His\u00a0direction and His authority moving in and through us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

With God, all things are possible. But without Him, we are all on our own, with only our own wisdom, our own knowledge, our own understanding and our own strength.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I don\u2019t know about you, but I don\u2019t want to be on my own.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There are some who will do things on their own, with God\u2019s name attached to it. Beware.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We need to have the Holy Spirit and His sharp discernment to recognize what the motive is behind their actions.<\/p>\n

God, may we draw near to you and look to You for help\u00a0in these days and times. We need Your direction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Jesus, God\u2019s only Son, says that He can do nothing of Himself. Let us learn from His\u00a0very words, and then act accordingly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
