Micah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you\u00a0But\u00a0to do justly,\u00a0To\u00a0love mercy,\u00a0And\u00a0to walk humbly with your God?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I love how Micah lists the things that the Lord requires us to do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The first one being “to do justly”.<\/p>\n

This means to do things in a way that is well founded; based on good evidence or reason, justifiable, and according to what is morally right or fair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Second, we are to love mercy.<\/p>\n

To show mercy means that we may be in a situation, and we have every right to punish someone for what they did against us, but we choose (here\u2019s the mercy part) to forgive and let it go.<\/p>\n

When we fully understand what God did for us<\/em>, this will be easy to do. And we will actually enjoy doing the same for others.<\/p>\n

This is not something God forces on us; it is however, something\u00a0He would love to see us grow in on our own.<\/p>\n

Learning to love walking in mercy produces such goodness and grace flowing out from us. These are very good qualities indeed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Third, and very important, we need to walk humbly with our God.<\/p>\n

This comes when we fully understand Who He is, and we begin to trust Him with our daily life and let Him lead us.<\/p>\n

As we are growing up, we are taught to be the opposite. We are taught to do everything ourselves.<\/p>\n

But, as we mature in the Lord, and in our relationship with Him, we will find ourselves running things by Him more often than usual.<\/p>\n

This causes us to have a grateful and humble attitude toward our Almighty Father.<\/p>\n

As we humble\u00a0ourselves,\u00a0He will raise us up, and things will work out accordingly in every situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
