Deuteronomy 28:1 (NKJV) 1 \u201cNow it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This scripture has two applications; a personal application and an application for a nation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Today, let\u2019s look at the personal application. And let\u2019s focus on the part that says, \u201cif you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Take note that the end of the verse states that if Israel diligently obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, He would set them above all the nations of the earth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now, let\u2019s look at this from a personal point of view.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

First, we need to note the importance of diligently obeying the voice of the Lord our God. This is the foundation for everything else about our walk and our life as a child of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God wants our whole heart in everything that we do. He doesn\u2019t want part of it. He wants it all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And, to be honest, if we\u2019re going to walk with God, why wouldn\u2019t we want to give Him our whole heart? If there\u2019s a single thing in our lives that\u2019s worth giving 100%, it\u2019s our relationship with the Creator of all that we see.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now, let\u2019s talk about that word, diligently, and what it means on a personal level.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

To do something diligently means to do it meticulously, rigorously, painstakingly, with attention to great detail, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In short, it means doing it with our whole heart, no\u00a0holds\u00a0barred.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This isn\u2019t for the purpose of gaining God\u2019s favor or for the sake of being rewarded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is evidence of our faith in God and love for Him. It’s also an outward manifestation of God\u2019s grace at work in our hearts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s important to note that this obedience isn\u2019t just about following a ritual or a routine. It\u2019s about a relationship that\u2019s alive and growing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And what does God promise for those who diligently obey His voice?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He will set them high above all the nations of the earth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

On a personal level, that means He will lift us up when we\u2019re down, sustain (comfort, encourage, assist, give strength to) us, provide for us, and bless us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

These things are just icing on the cake, so to speak, since having His love, mercy and grace active in our lives is already more than enough.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
