Psalm 37:5 (NKJV) 5 Commit your way to the Lord,\u00a0Trust\u00a0also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Welcome to the final devotional in our mini-series covering Psalm 37:3-5. We hope it\u2019s been informative for you so far.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Today, let\u2019s take a look at verse 5.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Commit your way to the Lord; This is a big deal, and it runs a bit deeper than it might seem when we initially read those words.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

On the surface, it\u00a0appears to be saying that we need to dedicate everything about our lives to God, putting Him first in everything.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And while this is 100% true, there is more to it than that.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In order to understand this in its fullness, we need to know that the word, commit, literally means \u201cto roll it over on\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This means that\u00a0when it comes to \u201cour way\u201d, the manner in which we conduct our lives and walk with Him, we \u201croll it over\u201d onto Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We trust Him with it 100%, knowing that He is faithful to pick it up and walk with us through all that we do, all that we face, leading and guiding us every step of the way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What an incredible picture of trust we see in this!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now, what does the next line say?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Trust also in Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, as we can see, trust is being established as the foundation for all of this. Without trust, nothing will happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s the strengthening of our relationship with God that helps build that trust. So be sure to set aside time each day to dig into His word and learn of Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And what does the last part say will happen if we trust in Him?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He shall bring it to pass.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What shall He bring to pass?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Two things; the desires of our heart will be given to us. And He will bring to pass the committing of our ways to Him, resulting in a rock-solid relationship that the devil and the world won\u2019t be able to touch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Trust in Him. Do good. Dwell in the land. Feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in Him. Commit your ways to Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He will give you the desires of your heart. Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n
