Matthew 7:24 (NKJV) 24 \u201cTherefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock<\/span>:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This verse illustrates the absolute necessity of\u00a0following\u00a0God and doing His will. That is, the things He tells us to do.<\/p>\n

His Word will guide us. We just have to be obedient in our listening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Most importantly, we need to have His word working and alive in us. How do we get His word alive in us?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We read it and take it to heart. We\u00a0don\u2019t just skim through the pages and read it like it\u2019s a regular book. We let every word penetrate our heart,\u00a0and let it do its thing in and through us every day. We try our best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to walk it out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

For instance, have you ever had\u00a0a scripture seem like it leapt off the page and spoke directly to what you were going through at that very moment?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That\u2019s exactly how it works.<\/p>\n

Now, we can ignore that this just happened and totally go on our way. Or we can acknowledge it and press in to God, and ask Him, “What is it that I need to do?”. And then we do it. That is God’s word alive in us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We should be wanting\u00a0to spend time in His word even more once we realize the power that comes through reading and obeying the scriptures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

They will feed us when we are hungry.\u00a0They will bring healing when we hurt. They will comfort us when we are uncomfortable. They will give us wisdom when we are confused about knowing\u00a0how\u00a0or what to do in certain situations.<\/p>\n

His Word will bring protection upon us when the\u00a0enemy tries to destroy us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Psalm 143:9 (NKJV) 9 Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; In You I take shelter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The amazing Word of God is our guide for our lives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
