1 Samuel 17:45 (NKJV) 45 Then David said to the Philistine, \u201cYou come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

David\u2019s life was exemplary with regard to honoring God in everything he did.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Throughout his lifetime, he never strayed from God. Nor did he worship any gods other than the one, true God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Yes, he sinned. He made some poor choices from time to time. But he always honored God and kept Him at the forefront of his life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It was that quality in David that caused him to excel in everything he did for God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He honored God at such a high level that he wouldn\u2019t allow anyone to defy God or slander His name.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As David faced Goliath, take note of what he said; \u201cI come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And it was that faith in his God that carried him to victory in the face of odds that were not in his favor when viewed through natural eyes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Children of God, we are at such a crossroads right now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We are facing an enemy of massive proportions; a giant that appears undefeatable by natural standards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That enemy is staring down at us, threatening to snuff us out and feed our flesh to the birds and the beasts, just as Goliath threatened to do\u00a0to David<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Who will we trust during this season of intense warfare?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Will we trust in man, or will we trust in our God?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This is a very important question that we need to seriously ponder and seek God on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We are seldom forewarned of situations where we may need to make this choice. They come suddenly, so we need to be sure we are prepared for them at all times.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And the only way to do that is to stay close to God, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Psalm 73:28 (NKJV) 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may declare all Your works.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
