Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As believers, the word of God is our\u00a0source of truth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is true and trustworthy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because of this, we need to be careful that we never allow the ways of the world to sway our thoughts on the things that the Bible states as absolutes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This typically isn\u2019t an issue for most believers. We see what God\u2019s word says, and we know that it means what it says. We don\u2019t question it or contradict it because of the opinions of the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we\u2019re not careful, though, we will begin to allow certain types of information to change our views on what some call \u201csocial issues\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As a case in point, if we were to look at what the Bible says about specific sins (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), we would readily admit and agree that it says they are wrong; thievery, drunkenness, idolatry, fornication, adultery, covetousness and extortion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Sadly, because of the influence of the world, and because of rhetoric that we have been bombarded with, many believers will draw a line when it comes to other certain sins that the Bible says are just as wrong as those listed above.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The most notable of these is homosexuality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because we have been inundated with so much information the last 20 years about homosexuality, and because the world now openly promotes it in the mass media, many in the body of Christ are now hurling insults at any believer who still takes God’s word at face value and believes that this is still a sin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The terrible irony lies in the fact that we could name the 8 sins immediately above, and nobody would argue. Everyone would nod in agreement that these are sins. Why? Because God\u2019s word says they are.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But when it comes to homosexuality and sodomy, the same people will dig their heels in and proclaim loudly that, 1. they aren\u2019t sure if it\u2019s a sin or, 2. we are judging people if we say it\u2019s a sin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Do you see the contradictory nature of this?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Why has this happened? Why will people so easily agree that 8 of those 10 behaviors are sinful, but then balk at the other two, even though they are all listed\u00a0together as\u00a0a group?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because it has been \u201cnormalized\u201d by the world, and because our minds have been affected by the onslaught of information\u00a0that we have been hit with for the last two decades.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

People of God, it\u2019s time that we see the ways of the world for what they are. We need to recognize the rhetoric when we hear it and see it, and tell the purveyors of such information, \u201cno, thank you\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And we need to ask God to transform us by the renewing of our minds, that we will still take Him at His word.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This is not an expose`\u00a0on the evils of homosexuality. It is simply an effort to unveil one of the ways that the enemy subtly sneaks into the minds of the saints of God, and whispers quietly into our\u00a0ear, \u201cdid God\u00a0really<\/em>\u00a0say that?\u201d, just as he did with Eve in the garden so many centuries ago.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
