Job 40:3-4 (NJKV) 3 Then Job answered the Lord and said: 4 \u201cBehold, I am vile; What shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s funny how tough, uncomfortable situations can show us who we are and what we\u2019re made of.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Times of trial can squeeze us, putting pressure on us and causing us to act in ways that aren\u2019t always pretty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

When we get squeezed, stuff comes out; nasty stuff that we\u2019d rather not see or have others see.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Look at what happened to Job when he was going through his time of trouble.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

At first, he played it very cool. He sat quietly and chose his words carefully.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But as time went on, he began to share what was really inside. And it wasn\u2019t pretty at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Ultimately, he\u00a0railed\u00a0against God and demanded an audience with Him so he could proclaim his innocence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

You see, Job was getting squeezed. And the more he got squeezed, the more he got to see himself. And he didn\u2019t like what he saw.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In the end, God spoke to Job and reprimanded him for his attitude and his behavior.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And Job repented. Why? Because he saw that who he was displeased God. And he was also displeased with himself.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He had acted foolishly, and it made him ashamed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But you see, when Job repented, God forgave him and blessed him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Let us learn from Job. Let\u2019s take what he learned and put it to work in our own lives, so when\u00a0we<\/em>\u00a0get squeezed, we don\u2019t do the same things he did.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Let God lead. He will bring us through the trials in ways that we can\u2019t do ourselves.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
