Micah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you\u00a0But\u00a0to do justly,\u00a0To\u00a0love mercy,\u00a0And\u00a0to walk humbly with your God?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

First, let’s look at what it means to have mercy on someone.<\/p>\n

It means to continue to show compassion or forgiveness toward someone when it is within that one\u2019s power to punish or harm them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In other words, don\u2019t do to them what others would normally do or expect us to do.<\/p>\n

Instead, we choose to do the opposite. We choose to give them a way out from their error or mess-up. We choose to forgive them immediately and move on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How many times does someone do something to us, and we want to lash out at them, thinking we have the right to do so?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Will we take some time and pray about it before we do to them what we think we should do?<\/p>\n

Sometimes giving it a little time will help us make good choices in the way we handle certain situations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Remember, give it some time and let mercy work. Love mercy!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
