Exodus 3:14 (NKJV) 14 And God said to Moses, \u201cI AM WHO I AM.\u201d And He said, \u201cThus you shall say to the children of Israel, \u2018I AM has sent me to you.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In the entirety of God\u2019s word, this is one of my favorite lines.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Why?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because it is God showing His sovereignty and His \u201cabsoluteness\u201d in one short phrase; I AM WHO I AM.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is declaring His self-existence and His eternal nature; He needs nobody to prove His existence, and He is going nowhere, ever.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There is a lot of \u201cbackground stuff\u201d regarding the words, I AM WHO I AM. The various Hebrew expressions for God, the proper translations of such expressions, etc., can lead to some interesting discussions and debates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But, to sum it nicely, God is saying, \u201cI am the One who is\/will be,\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is the same God yesterday, today and forever.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is this that creates the bedrock for our faith in Him. We never have to worry about Him changing or somehow disappearing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It just plain won\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And this is why the phrase, \u201cI AM WHO I AM\u201d has such an incredibly strong meaning to me.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is straight-forward and seemingly to the point, but it is deeper than our minds can even begin to comprehend. The depth of it can\u2019t be expressed in human language.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, take heart. You who are weary, worrisome, fretting, fearful and without hope, worry no more. Stop fretting. Do not be afraid. Take heart. And let God put an end to your worries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is able to do abundantly more than we can even imagine. And that is more than enough to assure that He is trustworthy to the end, for you and for me, in everything that we need.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
