John 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The right to become children of God; what a beautiful thing it is to become a child of God.<\/p>\n

Do you see the verb, become, in this sentence? This means that we must take action in order to become a child of God. And that action is that we believe and receive Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We can\u2019t expect this to just happen simply because our parents, our ministers or our friends are already children of God. We can\u2019t expect that we will be a child of God because we do good things and make good choices.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There is action required for us to “become”. This is very important, and it can only be done by us. No one\u00a0else can do it for us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

John 1:13 (NKJV) 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.<\/p>\n

This verse states that children of God are not born of man, but of God.<\/p>\n

This is what Jesus referred to as being “born again”.<\/p>\n

John 3:3 (NKJV) 3 Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Jesus said we must be born again, the word, “again”, literally means “from above”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We are not born all over again, as a natural baby is born. It is of God.<\/p>\n

Our spirit man comes alive as we receive Him and believe in His name; the name of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Once this happens, we will want our spirit to grow and learn all about His will for us and the things that please Him.<\/p>\n

We are a new creation. He\u00a0has begun a new work in us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

John 4:34 (NKJV) 34 Jesus said to them, \u201cMy food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
