Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV) 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The mission of Christ here on earth was immeasurable in its scope; to save humanity from their sins.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As I read this verse, I noticed that the entirety of that mission was summed up here in one tidy little package.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In Him (Christ) we have redemption through His blood.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is the blood of Christ that redeems us; washes us clean from our sins. We just need to apply it to ourselves by trusting Him and putting our faith in Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We can also have forgiveness for our sins through Christ by the simple act of sincerely repenting and asking for His forgiveness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How could this be?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because the death of Christ bought us (literally purchased us) out from under the burden (bonds, chains) of slavery. Slavery to what? Slavery to sin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And if we look at the very last part of this verse, we are told how this is all made possible; according to the riches of His grace.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is the grace of God that makes this possible. Without that grace, we would all be eternally condemned, without hope.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But by His grace we can be set free and become a child of God, allowing us to walk with Him in a relationship that will change us for eternity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
