Psalm 14:2 (NKJV) 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Years ago, there was a song that was made popular on mainstream secular radio stations called, \u201cFrom a Distance\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The song talked about God looking down and watching us, from a distance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I haven\u2019t listened to secular radio for more than 25 years. But I had heard of this song when it was popular, and I despised it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Why? Because it painted a picture of God as some aloof, uncaring figurehead who never interacted with humans, but simply watched from a distance in some strange, warm and fuzzy kind of way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The truth is, though, that God loves and thrives on His relationship with us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The verse above tells us that God does, in fact, look down upon us. But not in a disconnected sort of way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He looks down upon \u201cthe children of men\u201d (human beings). And this is where it gets interesting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Why does He look down upon you and I? To see if there are any who understand, and who seek Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This is what God desires; that we seek Him, and that we get understanding about His ways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And that is the core of our spiritual growth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we seek Him, and we get understanding, we will have no choice but to grow and mature.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As we grow and mature, what used to seem illogical and impossible to our human minds now becomes part of our everyday thinking and understanding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And this blows the warm and fuzzy version of God right out of the water. Wouldn\u2019t you agree?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
