Zechariah 1:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Therefore say to them, \u2018Thus says the Lord of hosts: \u201cReturn to Me,\u201d says the Lord of hosts, \u201cand I will return to you,\u201d says the Lord of hosts. 4 \u201cDo not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, \u2018Thus says the Lord of hosts: \u201cTurn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.\u201d \u2019 But they did not hear nor heed Me,\u201d says the Lord.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hearing the word of God is good. In fact, it\u2019s a necessity if we wish to learn and grow as a believer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Hearing the word of God also helps our faith to grow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But, in addition to hearing the word of God, we need to heed<\/em> the word of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we hear the word of God and fail to obey it or learn from it, then hearing it is largely useless to us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It\u2019s critical that we hear the word of God and then follow<\/em> what we hear, obeying God to the fullest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Old Testament is loaded with examples of God\u2019s prophets speaking, telling the Israelites what God wanted form them.<\/p>\n

And yet, they failed over and over again to listen and obey Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

People of God, let\u2019s not be like the Israelites, ignoring God to the point of wrath.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He deserves better than this.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As we follow His desires, our lives will bring glory and honor to Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
