Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I recently saw the title of what I believe was a podcast that stated that we are engaged in a theological war right now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

While that might sound good at first glance, it is not really accurate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What we are engaged in, on a global scale, is a spiritual war.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There is a big difference.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Theology is the study of God and religious belief.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Theology is intellectual. It deals with human understanding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What we are seeing happen around the globe is not theological. It is a spiritual<\/em> war. A war of good vs. evil; God vs. the devil.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we recognize it as anything less than a spiritual war, we will not know how to fight it properly. And we will lose badly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Theology teaches us about God and the various aspects of religion. It does not require any spiritual discernment. It requires only human understanding; understanding of the mind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Spiritual war, though, requires discernment that is given by the Holy Spirit. Spiritual war requires a different kind of understanding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This understanding doesn\u2019t come from ordinary books, but from the word of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We learn how to discern as we read and study the word of God. Having the word of God embedded<\/em> in us is even better, giving the Holy Spirit \u201ca well to draw from\u201d when He speaks to us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Don\u2019t skimp on spending time in God\u2019s word. God wants all of us to grow and mature. And the only way we can do that is to feed daily on His word.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
