John 17:3 (NKJV) 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He has given us eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The average person thinks in their head that life on earth is it. They don\u2019t think much about death or take it seriously.<\/p>\n

As a matter of fact, they don\u2019t usually\u00a0give death a thought unless they are forced to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Not talking about it, or not facing it, is deceiving ourselves and very unrealistic.<\/p>\n

Believe me, no one wants to sit around and talk about when they will die, because it makes them sad to think about it.<\/p>\n

But maybe we need to make it more a part of our journey and not be afraid of it. Maybe facing it will help us all to have no regrets when that time comes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Regrets come when something sudden takes place; something we were not prepared for.<\/p>\n

Maybe acknowledging death, instead of pretending it won\u2019t ever come, will help us not be so shocked when it does happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

When my dad passed last year, I was right there beside him.<\/p>\n

I was so happy to be there. I remember as he was lying there and he neared his departure, he stared intently ahead and then asked me, \u201cwho are all those people?”.<\/p>\n

Those were his last words. It was a moment I got to experience, and I am grateful to have been there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It was afterwards that it hit me, he\u2019s gone; the man that raised me, loved me, was there for me growing up and into my adult years.<\/p>\n

The man that breathed, walked, talked and kissed me goodnight. was now laying lifeless.<\/p>\n

As I left the room, I cried, \u201cgoodbye dad, I love you”.<\/p>\n

The death part of it hit me hard. We had never talked much about it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I ached in my heart from his absence in my life, and I didn\u2019t know what to do because I never truly thought about death; never thought it would happen to him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Death is something we will all face. It\u2019s a big part of living. But the good news about death is that Jesus has conquered it. And if we believe He is the Son of God and that He rose again, we too will live forever with Him in Heaven.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

1 Thessalonians 4:14 (NKJV) 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Don\u2019t be afraid of death. It is in His plan. And if we know Christ personally, we will have eternity with Him. That is where we will live forever, together! Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
