2 Peter 1:10 (NKJV) 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;<\/p>\n

As we discussed in a previous devotional, life can sometimes bring major changes; storms that beat on us and threaten to take us down.<\/p>\n

In keeping with that theme, we\u2019d like to talk today about doing what is necessary to ensure that the storms we face aren\u2019t successful in defeating us; preventing us from finishing the race we\u2019re running.<\/p>\n

Peter spoke about \u201cmaking our call and election sure\u201d.<\/p>\n

He did that for a reason; because we play a major part in ensuring our eternal destiny.<\/p>\n

Christ provided the vehicle by which we traverse the road to eternal life.<\/p>\n

But we are the driver of that vehicle. We choose its course.<\/p>\n

We decide whether we will follow the path set before us by God; the narrow path. The path that few travel.<\/p>\n

God will provide us with directions. He is like our own personal GPS (God-Powered-Steersman), giving us guidance. The map is laid out before us.<\/p>\n

Will we trust that GPS and make all the right turns on our journey? Or will we wander off course because we don\u2019t like the path He has placed us on?<\/p>\n

Maybe we decide to veer off the prescribed path because we think we know a better way. But this only shows that we need to further build our trust in God.<\/p>\n

We need to do whatever is necessary to grow and mature in our faith, so we will make the turns we\u2019re directed to make, when we\u2019re directed to make them, without hesitation and without arguing with our \u201cGPS\u201d.<\/p>\n

This may require us to \u201cput our blinders on\u201d at times, to keep us from getting distracted by so many of the things we see happening around us.<\/p>\n

The stuff we see may pull our attention away from God because we want to take charge and make our own corrections and adjustments.<\/p>\n

Or maybe we want to fix something ourselves, because we don\u2019t trust anyone else to do it; not even God, the Giver of life and breath.<\/p>\n

It is only in spending time with Him that we can fix this problem in ourselves.<\/p>\n

We need to learn to trust Him, one little step at a time, until we reach the point where we trust Him so much that we no longer question Him.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t happen overnight. It takes time. But we can get there if we sincerely try.<\/p>\n

Trust Him. Follow your \u201cGPS\u201d. Make your call and election sure. Amen<\/p>\n
