Isaiah 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!<\/p>\n

As we left off yesterday, we were discussing the fact that a nation in decline will reach a point where it eventually plunges into darkness, and the righteous try desperately holding onto God and what is good.<\/p>\n

Those who have abandoned God will begin blatantly displaying evil in plain sight.<\/p>\n

As this happens, evil becomes labeled as good and good becomes labeled as evil in the minds of corrupt leaders. And many of the people follow suit.<\/p>\n

Immorality will begin to become the norm.<\/p>\n

Sexual sins will often become commonplace to the point where they barely garner any attention, even in plain sight.<\/p>\n

Tyrannical government leaders will become unconstrained in their rampage against God and all that He stands for, acting as gods themselves.<\/p>\n

Human lives will become worth nothing in the eyes of the depraved government leaders and those who support that government\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n

It will reach a point where it seems completely hopeless, as though all is lost, and nothing can save that nation.<\/p>\n

But God\u2019s word has something to say about this.<\/p>\n

The scripture at the beginning of yesterday\u2019s devotional (Proverbs 14:34) said that \u201csin is a reproach to any people\u201d.<\/p>\n

The word \u201creproach\u201d could also be replaced with \u201cshame\u201d or \u201cdisgrace\u201d.<\/p>\n

Judgment eventually comes to these nations if they do not repent.<\/p>\n

It even happened to Israel, as we saw God allow evil kings to raid and overthrow them, multiple times, eventually exiling its people to faraway lands.<\/p>\n

Israel became a vast wasteland, with only a tiny remnant of God\u2019s chosen people left dwelling there.<\/p>\n

You may ask why God would allow this to happen, especially to those He calls His own.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s talk about that tomorrow.<\/p>\n
