Romans 1:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first <\/span>and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, \u201cThe just shall live by faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The<\/span> just shall live by faith.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What<\/span> does that mean, exactly?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

First, what is the word, \u201cjust<\/span>\u201d, referring to?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Just is typically used to <\/span>indicate someone is justified. Justification comes by way of the blood of Christ.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We are redeemed and justified, made clean and whole by the blood of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

To be justified\u00a0implies that we can stand before God, unashamed, knowing that the blood of Christ has washed us.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Therefore, we are justified in standing before God without fear of retribution because of our washed condition. Our sins have been removed by our faith in Christ and His shed blood.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, if we have put our faith in Christ, we are just (justified).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And how shall we, the just, live?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

By faith.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Our lives are not to be conducted by <\/span>fleshly, intellectual means.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We are to live and walk by faith.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We do not rely on earthly ways or earthly understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We do not walk in the ways of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We live, breathe, and understand by the <\/span>leading of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This way of life can take some getting used to. It flies in the face of conventional thinking. But then so does <\/span>just about everything else that God does.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, let us not wrestle with God as He guides us and orders our steps.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We may not always understand everything right away. But if we give Him preference, and we trust His <\/span>leading, we will find ourselves walking a path that\u2019s very different than the path of the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And we will grow to love this way of life as we see Him moving in our lives on a regular basis.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
