Acts 16:3 (NKJV) 3 Paul wanted to have him go on with him. And he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in that region, for they all knew that his father was Greek.<\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s main concern was always to preach the gospel.<\/p>\n

Even though Paul was free from all the religious hang-ups, etc., he was constrained by the weaknesses of others. So, he would enter their world to win them to Christ.<\/p>\n

In this case, he wanted Timothy to go with him. But Timothy, being half Jew and half Greek, had not been circumcised.<\/p>\n

Paul knew that taking him into the Jewish synagogues would be a problem. So, out of simple Christian courtesy, Timothy was circumcised.<\/p>\n

We have to be mature when there are social, cultural and religious differences that try to stand in the way of preaching the gospel.<\/p>\n

We need to let God give us His wisdom to do what it takes to reach the lost.<\/p>\n

Sometimes it takes doing the uncomfortable thing.<\/p>\n

Are we willing to do what it takes, like Paul and Timothy, to share the word of God?<\/p>\n

It is all worth it in the end to know that there is rejoicing going on in Heaven when someone puts their faith in our Savior!<\/p>\n

Praise be to God, He gives us the maturity we need to go beyond the uncomfortable and into unfamiliar territory to reach those in need today.<\/p>\n

Amen.<\/p>\n
