Acts 5:40 (NKJV) 40 And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus and let them go.<\/p>\n

The apostles were beaten for speaking the name of Jesus.<\/p>\n

Jesus does not guarantee perpetual happiness if we agree to serve Him. But He does promise us so much more; peace, love, joy, and eternal life!<\/p>\n

Some of the hits we take, and the pressures we can face may make us question whether or not we did the right thing by following Jesus.<\/p>\n

They may even cause us to shrink back from time to time.<\/p>\n

In this case, the apostles did not let it affect the work they were called to do. In fact, it caused them to go even stronger and preach that much more.<\/p>\n

Acts 5:41-42 (NKJV) 41 So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.<\/p>\n

Are you feeling persecuted today because you took a stand and won’t back down? Are you being bullied because people sense Jesus\u2019 Spirit in you and know what and Who you stand for?<\/p>\n

You are not alone. He is with you.<\/p>\n

When you feel the pressure and tension in the atmosphere, call on His name. He will give you the strength to endure.<\/p>\n

2 Peter 1:3 (NKJV) 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue…<\/p>\n

It is through His power we have what it takes. Amen.<\/p>\n
