Luke 22:56-58 (NKJV) 56 And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, \u201cThis man was also with Him.\u201d 57 But he denied Him, saying, \u201cWoman, I do not know Him.\u201d 58 And after a little while another saw him and said, \u201cYou also are of them.\u201d But Peter said, \u201cMan, I am not!\u201d<\/p>\n

Peter\u2019s failure at this point in his life is well known and is the topic of many discussions. He had denied knowing Jesus after spending the prior three years with Him.<\/p>\n

Most of those discussions tend to focus on Peter\u2019s transformation from a frightened denier of Jesus to a powerhouse Apostle who was instrumental in building the early church.<\/p>\n

Without a doubt, there is much to be learned from this incredible turnaround in Peter\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

There is something else that we can learn from this that can be easily missed.<\/p>\n

It is this; If Peter could be transformed so completely after such a drastic failure, God is also able to transform me or you in the same way.<\/p>\n

In fact, He can do this with anyone.<\/p>\n

How is this possible?<\/p>\n

How can He take someone who is terrified, and transform them into someone who is willing to lay down their life for their faith?<\/p>\n

We must surrender our lives to God and His Spirit.<\/p>\n

This cannot be something we do halfheartedly. Total surrender on our part is required.<\/p>\n

We should know that this could cost us.<\/p>\n

But we must recognize that our salvation cost Jesus everything. He traded His life for ours. He gave us His all.<\/p>\n

This is not a message for the faint of heart. It may make some quite uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

But it is a truth that each of us needs to understand and weigh on a personal level.<\/p>\n

Will we surrender all to Jesus? Will we allow God to transform us as He transformed Peter?<\/p>\n

Will we commit to presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice for the service of God\u2019s kingdom? Only we can answer that question.<\/p>\n

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) 12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.<\/p>\n
