Exodus 34:29 (LSB) 29 Now it happened when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses\u2019 hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.<\/p>\n

When Moses came down the mountain and he approached the people of Israel, Aaron and the others were startled by what they saw.<\/p>\n

They were afraid to come near him due to his face being radiant and bright.<\/p>\n

Moses had just spent forty days on Mount Sanai, speaking and communing with God. The effects of this included the face of Moses glowing in a way that the others could not comprehend.<\/p>\n

This was the invisible Spirit of God emanating from Moses in a visible manner. Because they had never witnessed anything like this, it caused them to stay at a distance, afraid to approach him.<\/p>\n

This glowing radiance was the manifestation of God\u2019s presence on Moses. He had been touched by God\u2019s Spirit in a way that people could see. And it caused them to be fearful.<\/p>\n

Moses assured them that everything was OK, and that there was nothing to fear. Then they approached him, and he spoke with them.<\/p>\n

When we spend time with God, we change. It becomes visible in our lives.<\/p>\n

It is impossible for us to spend time with Him and not <\/i>be noticeably changed.<\/p>\n

This is why it is critical for us to pull away, just as Jesus did, and be alone with Him.<\/p>\n

We need the quiet time where we can speak to Him and listen for His voice, hearing what He wants us to hear, gaining His insights, His understanding, His peace, and His joy in our lives.<\/p>\n

Without this, we will never know God in the way He desires us to know Him. And we will never grow and mature into who He wants us to be.<\/p>\n

Make time each day to dig into His word, spend quiet time with Him, and learn of Him.<\/p>\n

We may not visibly glow like Moses, but the impact on our lives will be visible in many ways.<\/p>\n
