1 Corinthians 15:51 (NKJV) 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed…<\/p>\n

Today, we will examine a mystery; a hidden truth!<\/p>\n

As Paul penned these words to the Corinthian believers, he was sharing a divine revelation with them.<\/p>\n

He wanted them to understand the depth and true meaning of the foundation their faith in Christ was built on, beyond the precious gift of redemption (the washing of their sins).<\/p>\n

As the apostles grew in their own faith, God began to give them understanding in much deeper things that they shared with the other believers.<\/p>\n

They gained this understanding not from man or human intellect, but only by the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

The \u201chidden truth\u201d that Paul referenced was \u201chidden\u201d (withheld) in the Old Covenant. But it was now being revealed to the children of God as part of the New Covenant.<\/p>\n

Exactly what was this mystery?<\/p>\n

It was the resurrection of believers, just as Jesus Himself had been raised from the dead. He stated that it would happen \u201cin the twinkling of an eye\u201d (in an instant).<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 15:52 (NKJV) 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.<\/p>\n

You see, without the resurrection there would be no life after death; no hope of spending eternity in God\u2019s presence. We would live, and then we would be laid to rest forever.<\/p>\n

But in God\u2019s great mercy, He made a way through Jesus!<\/p>\n

And death has been forever defeated, not just for Jesus, but for you and me also!<\/p>\n

No longer does death have a grip on us. It was dealt a fatal blow when Jesus arose and walked out of that grave. Death has been defeated for eternity.<\/p>\n

Take heart brothers and sisters in Christ! These present trials are momentary and light when compared to our eternal presence with God.<\/p>\n

Let this mystery that has been revealed to us give us incredible hope and joy as we look toward eternity where death is no longer.<\/p>\n
