Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) 23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.<\/p>\n

To keep our heart also means to watch over, cultivate, and protect it.<\/p>\n

What are we protecting it from?<\/p>\n

From the things that will pull us down, or draw us away from God, or things that will try to come in and take root.<\/p>\n

Or maybe they are already there and need to be rooted out.<\/p>\n

When we become a believer, our heart needs a lot of attention because the Bible says that the heart is desperately wicked.<\/p>\n

Jeremiah 17:9 (NKJV 9 \u201cThe heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?<\/p>\n

We need to uproot and clean out the things that cannot stay; the deceit and wickedness.<\/p>\n

What is it today that is keeping us from walking a closer walk with God?<\/p>\n

Is it the old habits keeping us on the fence? You know; those things that have been part of us for some time, but we know they must go.<\/p>\n

The issues of life come from our very own heart.<\/p>\n

What we love will rule us! Let it be God!<\/p>\n
