Psalm 119:11 (NKJV) 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.<\/p>\n

Learning and growing in knowledge of the word of God is foundational to our maturity as a believer.<\/p>\n

There is NO substitute for this.<\/p>\n

There are no shortcuts.<\/p>\n

We must make the conscious choice to learn His word.<\/p>\n

There are untold numbers of verses and examples found in His word, written by multiple authors, who reinforce this truth.<\/p>\n

David, Paul, and Solomon are just a few.<\/p>\n

Even Jesus confirmed this when He stated that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4).<\/p>\n

David stated this:<\/p>\n

Psalm 119:9 (LSB) 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.<\/p>\n

David got it. He understood that knowing God\u2019s word is where everything else starts.<\/p>\n

We each start with (have been given) a measure (seed) of faith, as stated in Romans 12:3.<\/p>\n

All seeds require nourishment to grow. Without it, they quickly spring up and then wither and die.<\/p>\n

God\u2019s word is that nourishment. It feeds our spirit. It strengthens the building blocks that are the foundation of our faith, making it impenetrable by the enemy and his tactics.<\/p>\n

When God\u2019s word is hidden (treasured) in our heart, we have an ever present, always-vigilant defense mechanism always at the ready.<\/p>\n

It is up to us to use that defense mechanism.<\/p>\n

It is up to us to feed it.<\/p>\n

And it is up to us to be sure it gets strengthened regularly, that it does not fail or falter due to impotence and malnutrition.<\/p>\n
