Mark 16:15 (LSB) 15 And He said to them, \u201cGo into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation<\/span>.<\/p>\n

It is a well-known fact that Jesus commanded the church, all His followers, to go into the world and preach the gospel.<\/p>\n

Despite the large number of various denominations, this command is well-recognized and followed across each of them in one way or another.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019d like to challenge each believer to consider this command on a personal level today and look beyond the corporate church aspects of it.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s get personal about it.<\/p>\n

Jesus gave His life for the bride; those who put their faith and trust in him, personally<\/i>. He died for you, and He died for me, not just for a mass, lump sum of humans.<\/p>\n

And our faith in Him is very personal, unique and a one-on-one relationship that needs nurturing and requires effort, just as any worthwhile relationship does.<\/p>\n

Knowing that, let us consider the command above on a personal level; what it means for each of us.<\/p>\n

With that being established, we must consider this one question: Are we telling<\/i> people about Jesus or are we showing<\/i> them Jesus?<\/p>\n

It is important that we recognize the difference and consider the implications of this.<\/p>\n

Telling<\/i> people about Jesus is easy. We utter some words and go on our merry way, never considering anything other than the words we spoke.<\/p>\n

Showing<\/i> them Jesus is a whole other proposition. We must do more than give words and a mini sermon. We are required to demonstrate<\/i> Jesus to them with our lives.<\/p>\n

This requires something that simply speaking words is void of; discipleship of the highest form.<\/p>\n

Showing them who Jesus is through our daily actions proves to people that we are fully committed to the very thing we speak about and are sharing with them.<\/p>\n

In fact, living out our faith will often portray Jesus to others without us having to speak a single word; His love and compassion in action.<\/p>\n

This does not mean that we should never speak of Jesus or fail to tell others of His love and mercy. But when our lives back up the things we say, we are \u201cspeaking\u201d much more loudly than words alone can ever do.<\/p>\n
