John 14:1 (NKJV) 1 \u201cLet not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Jesus came in human form, not in power and might, but in meekness and humility.<\/p>\n

He was all God, yet all man, that He might show us His compassion.<\/p>\n

Jesus did not live in a castle or mansion. In fact, He said He had no place to lay His head.<\/p>\n

Matthew 8:20 (NKJV) 20 And Jesus said to him, \u201cFoxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jesus did not do signs and wonders to show that He could dominate.<\/p>\n

He did signs and wonders to show God\u2019s love to humanity.<\/p>\n

Jesus did not spend time with the rich and powerful, looking to gain favor with them.<\/p>\n

He spent time with sinners; liars, thieves, and adulterers, that His words might lead them to repentance.<\/p>\n

Jesus did not use His authority to overthrow kingdoms.<\/p>\n

He practiced love and compassion to bring the kingdom of God to earth.<\/p>\n

Jesus did not use His intimate knowledge of people\u2019s hearts to shame them.<\/p>\n

He used it to cause them to repent and seek forgiveness.<\/p>\n

Jesus did not defend Himself when questioned by Pilate.<\/p>\n

He used that moment to speak truth to Pilate, telling him that he only had whatever authority had been given to him by God.<\/p>\n

And Jesus did not use His great power to escape the beatings and the cruel punishment He endured on the cross.<\/p>\n

He humbly, willingly laid down His life for the entirety of humanity, demonstrating God\u2019s incredible, unfathomable love for you and for me, that we might have the opportunity to embrace the gift of God\u2019s mercy and gain eternal life with God.<\/p>\n

If you are troubled today, consider the greatness of these things and what God has done for you.<\/p>\n

Ponder His great love, compassion, and mercy over your own life, and where you would be without Him.<\/p>\n

Thank Him and give Him praise for His faithfulness. And then lay your troubles at His feet and surrender it all to Him.<\/p>\n

He can handle it much better than we can.<\/p>\n
