Galatians 3:28 (LSB) 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n

When Jesus was crucified, and then raised from the dead, many things changed.<\/p>\n

To say that this was a major, significant event would be a massive understatement.<\/p>\n

The moment Jesus breathed His last breath and surrendered His spirit, everything changed.<\/p>\n

Even the earth groaned with this event, as the skies grew dark during the crucifixion, and the ground shook violently upon His death (Matthew 27:50-54).<\/p>\n

And the spirit world trembled as the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, exposing the holy of holies and signifying the end of the old covenant and the beginning of the new.<\/p>\n

With the onset of the new covenant, old labels fell away.<\/p>\n

As Paul explains in the verses above, in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male, or female. We are one in Christ.<\/p>\n

This seems to be a very hard truth for most of us to comprehend.<\/p>\n

Here we are, centuries later, still identifying people by their race, their ethnicity, their culture, where they were born, etc.<\/p>\n

Yet this should not be so.<\/p>\n

Are there still men and women? Of course! God made us this way, male and female.<\/p>\n

But our identity is not found in our gender, our skin color, our financial status, or the size of the house we live in.<\/p>\n

If we are under the blood of Christ, we are ONE<\/strong> in Him!<\/p>\n

If someone is born into a Jewish family, and they put their faith in Christ, they no longer wear the label of Jew.<\/p>\n

If someone is a drunkard, and they are set free by Christ, their identity is no longer what it once was. They have been made new in Christ!<\/p>\n

When we put on Christ, our identity is now found in Him!<\/p>\n

Let us cease holding onto the old labels.<\/p>\n

We are free in Christ. Let us behave and speak as though we are!<\/p>\n
